Here are three more video's from last weekend. I keep them all between 1 - 2 min, short and to the point. No voice over, no music, just the event. Opinions: Do y'all like to see them, or would you like me to stop? (if you like, feel free to give 'em a like if you feel so inclined)

Wow

Great video work and nice shots!

High fence, low fence, no fence, it really doesn't matter as long as you're hunting!

I've had several questions around "you should let them get bigger". My response always is, I have better genetics in younger deer that I pass so I have the proper balance of age groups, genetics that I like, total deer population and buck/doe ratio. Then I show them a few pics of the bucks I'm not shooting and they pipe down.

great videos. what camera do you use for the slo motion?

btw, whoever is shooting in that first video needs to check the spine on their arrows...

Quick Question - What was the yardage on the shots? how far is your feeder from your stand?

I was gonna say the bow needed tuning or something...that thing came out like a crazy rudderless boat. fortunately it made the intended effect.

Definitely got lots of deer around. The rocky ground is something I am not used to...

Good video. I like the short and sweet

feeders are typically 40-60 yards away from the blind, but I hand throw corn out at 20-22 yards from the blind when I hunt or fill feeders or change out cards.

High fence completed this year. Now my neighbors are complaining that the drought has really hurt their herd this year. Not the fact that my protein and WCS buffet has been stopped for them. smile

The slo mo is just using the same video from the iPhone. Many of my vids are self filmed. I just mount the iPhone, turn the camera on with video, and have a "on/off" remote control in my pocket. When I want the video to start, just click the remote and the iPhone video capture starts. Then when editing, I use iMovie. Clip a portion of the video, slow it down to 10% speed....gives you slo mo.

Thanks, I thought the feeder was pretty far. I like the idea of having the feeder further from the blind. Thanks for the idea.

Woj, what county are you in? This 6x5 above is going to be a STUD! Looks 2.5 in this pic to me.

Menard County, and he's 3.5 yrs old....but agree, he's going to be a stud! Non-shooter for a few more years.

Turns out the bow is fine. The only thing that it might have been was a slight bend in the arrow. I shoot Easton FMJ's and this was the 9th animal I've take with that same arrow.

Great videos. Keep them coming. Those are very educational for bow hunters. That first one really showed how they can drop down.

At some point in life its time to quit chasing the pot of gold and just enjoy the rainbow. FR

You aint lyin' free!
Very good thing the OP was holding 1/3 of the way up. That buck was dropping fast at the sound of the bow.

Great area
You are going to have some great deer in just a couple years. No reason why you won't be shooting 160"+ deer there with the culling and feeding program you are doing.
The hard part is as you progress along is to keep culling because at some point the bottom end of an age class are going to be pretty damn nice looking deer! lmao

I've been amazed over the years with some ranches and how high up the poll their management system and deer herd is. Some of the 2 & 3 year old culls they take off would be great trophies on many places!

I'm hoping that turns out to be true because I plan to start 'donating' hunts / cull bucks in a few years. Target what I consider a 'cull', and others would consider a trophy, and donate them to Wounded Warriors, Make-a-Wish, charity auctions, etc.

You are a good man Woj!!!!

And stay hard on those culls, get your buck to doe ratio 1:1 or better if it isn't already, and feed the hell out of em and you are going to have a GREAT place in a short time!

I wish I could see that many deer at once. I'm lucky if I see three deer in a day.
