I just moved to the texoma area, and I am going to duck hunt the Red River tomorrow morning. I thought I would see if anybody would like to go with me? I have no idea if we will see any ducks, because I have never hunted the Red before.
Although this is my first trip on the Red River, I am no amateur. I guided duck hunts on the rivers and lakes around my previous home for many years. I have the boat, deeks, and calls. All you need to bring is your shotgun and chest waders. You will also need an Oklahoma hunting license because we will be hunting the Red north of Texoma. If you would like to hunt with me in the morning give me a call or shoot me a text. 817-506-1600. My name is Charles.

1st time on that river is a day you’ll always remember. If you go solo keep your phone close and be careful. That mud don’t play.

Good luck

I used to cuss the rocks on the floor of the Brazos. Your warning makes me wonder if I should go back and apologize. Thanks for the heads up. I will keep that in mind.

Man be careful - that mud is no joke.

River is also low - lots of exposed hazards and mud is going to be decieving.

Yeah, he used to duck hunt on a wave runner. And he posted a story once where he hit a stump, went flying, sunk to the bottom of the lake because he had a heavy back pack on with shells etc... I remember all this kinda stuff Duck and Bass.

Memory like an old Mule.

I think I remember something like that.

From his original statement it did not appear he’d scouted. My guess is he never got the boat in the water. If he did he did not get out of whatever creek he launched from.

I took him up on his generous offer. Thanks again! Enjoyed meeting you and swapping stories! Definitely an area to keep an eye on for the spring white bass run. No ducks, but I like scouting and have hunted Oklahoma several times over the years and wanted to see a spot on Texoma I hadn't been to. No ducks where we went looking, but the mud wasn't bad at all and it was really ducky in a couple places. We were both surprised at the no ducks, as it is near an area that usually has a ton. Why you need to scout.

I enjoyed meeting you as well, Hailyeah. No ducks, but good company and beautiful scenery made the morning. Guy, I sold that waverunner after it made me swim 200 yards in 20 degree weather. I bought an airboat a couple of years ago and threw a rod through the side of the engine right before duck season. New engine will be shipped Feb.1st (bad timing). We took my seaark up the river the other day and it did fine.
The crazy thing was that we did not see any ducks flying in the horizon at all, and it was so clear we could see many miles of sky. We didn't hear a single shotgun blast anywhere. It made me think that the birds may not be here yet, or they have moved their flight path more east or west. Or maybe they heard Hailyeah was on a trigger, and they were to scared to fly.

Yeah that's it. In fact that explains a lot! lol
