I wonder why that is? nidea

JG, you should give yourself that lefty, APR 7mm08 for Christmas. you could make that thing sing!!

Every APR I have done a load development for has shot very well.

I just don't need it. I tote around a 17" 7mm-08 A.I. every day.

I could shoot a group with my benchrest rifle and then post it as a rifle in a for sale add. I don't care if people post group pictures or not, I don't buy a rifle based upon the groups it shoots. I figure I can get it to shoot and if I can't, it'll get a new barrel. I know not everyone has that ability but my point is...my trust in people have pretty much diminished in the last 2 -3 years so I don't care if you post a picture...unless I know you, I don't believe it or figure that's the best that rifle will do on that one day in stellar wind conditions.

Saying all of that, I post my pictures of groups (if I took them) and especially if someone asks.

Parting thought...any time I hear someone say "this rifle shoots in the .2"...I know it's [censored], because there aren't many benchrest rifles that will consistently shoot in the 2's. Very likely that rifle shot a group or two in the 2's but not many are consistent...if it was, you could put a lot of lumber on your wall with a barrel like that. Most rifles are under MOA and exceptional rifles are half...they will shoot some 2's and they will shoot some 8's but on average they will agg 1/2".

This pistol issue will be in the courts the day it gets issued and stayed shortly after that. SCOTUS already decided that agencies can't create laws, only elected officials can. EPA got hammered on this. This will be the case that does the same for the ATF.

At least I'm hoping....

I'm very fond of Ruger #1 & #3 rifles. It seems that out of the box, sometimes these rifles are real dogs accuracy-wise, especially in varmint calibers with factory ammo. Sometimes you can get a real deal from a motivated seller. I don't mind reloading & adjusting the bedding. I have yet to find one that wouldn't really shoot fantastic with a bit of tinkering.

I thought it was understood that on the interwebs all rifles shoot 1/2moa all. day. long. No need to post a picture.

But seriously, why worry about it. Anybody can fake a group, just buy the rifle if you like it. Not to be mention f I am selling a rifle (and I figure most others), I don't keep targets, and may or not have time to 10 groups @25 yards and cherry pick one, for a glamour shot lol

If grouping was a deciding factor of the sale then request a photo of it? I’ve also seen a lot of laser beams take months to sell even with many photos of groups.

Taking a bad shooting gun to a gun show to sell is hardly different than trying to sell it here. It's still a dishonest move.

The only rifles I have sold here have been desirable enough to the buyer for it to not matter with exception of one that was un-fired and didn't work for the new owner. I bought it back, fixed it, sold it again to a happy person. Was it dishonest to sell a rifle that didn't work? Not if I was honest when I said it was un-fired. A couple people wanted a video of one working. I provided such and they bought and never said anything else. Targets? I haven't posted a target because I never sold anything that needed one posted.

Neither "allot" not "alot" are proper words in the context herein but I digress...

Pass the gravy.

And if you do post pictures make sure they are focused, well lit, not upside down, or have accessories that aren’t included. All of our phones have great cameras. Take some decent pics..geez

You forget to advise to make sure their hairy toes aren't in the pic.

Yes, clean the mayo off your phone lens please.

I've bought rifles, pistols and shotguns on THF and all work as designed. Never had a dud or problem child. Guess I got lucky.

And yes please post pictures if you intend to sell anything on here. Gee whiz.

I think some for sale units are from someone that buys off the shelf ammo with the fastest fps numbers they can find, 100 dollar scope, shoot it a few times, maybe try another box.
When they don't see the death ray accuracy from Trailer Swift they just know the gun don't shoot and can't wait to unload it on someone.

I've been reloading since the middle 70's and like to experiment but will also use store bought depending on cartridge. 204 and 17 Fireball are to small for me to mess with, and do what they need to do with box ammo.
I buy from Chad on here and Copper Creek as well. Have bought several guns from members on here and haven't ran across one i couldn't make shoot.

This old cowboy dude at a gun show told me, “guns are like horses. You buy one, race him for a little bit, and then sell him. If you come across one you really like, then hang on to it.” Paraphrasing here. Guns are like toys to me, I’ll buy one, maybe work up a load for it, kill a couple hogs with it then get bored of it and hope to sell it for a small loss.

Rightly or wrongly that’s how I look at it.

Some guys will blow through 250 dollars on a golf course in four hours between the booz/cigars/betting (myself included) and it’s no less fun than enjoying a gun for a few trips and then selling it to the next guy who wants to try it out.

Most guns nowadays can shoot minute of deer so I don’t get too hung up on that aspect.

The risk is there anytime you buy a used gun or even a new one for that matter. If you buy a gun at the local gun store, a gun show, wherever else do you see a target and get details on accuracy? I would like to think people on here are honest and likely to disclose issues more so than me picking up a used gun off the shelf at a local store.

This one is the actual ATF mumbo jumbo
https://www.govinfo.gov/content/pkg/FR-2021-06-10/pdf/2021-12176.pdf

This one kind of condenses it down to a readable format.
https://fieldethos.com/atf-is-offic...0of,the%20brace%20in%20to%20authorities.

The 4999 Worksheet will be almost impossible for any of the pistols to pass, I know all mine failed before even starting the worksheet rofl

Oh, good links. This sentence from ATF site jumped out at me:

Quote
Proposed Rule
Given the public interest surrounding
these issues, ATF is proposing to amend
the definition of ‘‘rifle’’ in 27 CFR
478.11 and 479.11, respectively, by
adding a sentence at the end of each
definition. The new sentence would
clarify that the term ‘‘rifle’’ includes any
weapon with a rifled barrel and
equipped with an attached
‘‘stabilizing brace’’ that has objective
design features and characteristics that
indicate that the firearm is designed to
be fired from the shoulder, as indicated
on ATF Worksheet 4999.

Oh goody, they're going to start redefining fundamental things like what a rifle is!

Most people can't shoot well enough to know. A proper and thorough cleaning, a some tightening of screws and learning how to set up bags on a bench would have lots of sellers wanting their gun back.

A pic of some holes in a target doesn’t mean anything.
A pic of the actual item for sale is important.

What classified users really need to do is make clear in
the subject line if they are selling or looking for and what
the item specifically is. Vague subject lines are an az whipping.

I quit buying used once I figured me out

I never kept a used rifle

If I bought new, rigged up like I want, I kept

Idk took like 40 years for me to figure this out, most aren't like me

I am a few weeks out from listing a good shooting Tikka myself

It'll shoot, its been 6 mo since I measured but it like .78-.98 3 shot groups and thats me shooting..

I promise I bought it new just tired of the ammo game but this is a shooter, this is pretty rare for me to sell

I want matching X Bolts and the safe is full
