I subscribe to this guy on Twitter who post a lot of Vietnam fallen. I get several notifications a day. Couple weeks ago I saw a guy from my hometown. Hope y’all don’t mind if I post some from Texas when they come up. Just saw two in last hour.

I spent about 7 months in training with this man. We arrived in Vietnam together and he went his way I mine. I heard if his death when I was getting ready to DEROS the RVN. He had a 1965 Impala SS. He was killed in action 8 Dec 1968, over 50 years ago. SGT Douglas Dupree, Mineola TX. https://www.virtualwall.org/dd/DupreeDx01a.htm

Thanks for posting. I have a close friend who's father was shot down in Vietnam and they waited over 40 years to get his remains found and returned to the US. Lots of our classmates wore MIA/POW bracelets supporting her and her family.

All are True Heroes. I thank them for doing what they did so that we can do what we do every day.

Johnnie David Hutchins
“For extraordinary heroism and conspicuous valor above and beyond the call of duty while serving on board a Landing Ship, Tank, during the assault on Lae, New Guinea, 4 September 1943. As the ship on which Hutchins was stationed approached the enemy-occupied beach under a veritable hail of fire from Japanese shore batteries and aerial bombardment, a hostile torpedo pierced the surf and bore down upon the vessel with deadly accuracy. In the tense split seconds before the helmsman could steer clear of the threatening missile, a bomb struck the pilot house, dislodged him from his station, and left the stricken ship helplessly exposed. Fully aware of the dire peril of the situation, Hutchins, although mortally wounded by the shattering explosion, quickly grasped the wheel and exhausted the last of his strength in maneuvering the vessel clear of the advancing torpedo. Still clinging to the helm, he eventually succumbed to his injuries, his final thoughts concerned only with the safety of his ship, his final efforts expended toward the security of his mission. He gallantly gave his life in the service of his country.”
John E. Kilmer
For conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity at the risk of his life above and beyond the call of duty in action against enemy aggressor forces. With his company engaged in defending a vitally important hill position well forward of the main line of resistance during an assault by large concentrations of hostile troops, HM Kilmer repeatedly braved intense enemy mortar, artillery, and sniper fire to move from 1 position to another, administering aid to the wounded and expediting their evacuation. Painfully wounded himself when struck by mortar fragments while moving to the aid of a casualty, he persisted in his efforts and inched his way to the side of the stricken marine through a hail of enemy shells falling around him. Undaunted by the devastating hostile fire, he skillfully administered first aid to his comrade and, as another mounting barrage of enemy fire shattered the immediate area, unhesitatingly shielded the wounded man with his body. Mortally wounded by flying shrapnel while carrying out this heroic action, HM Kilmer, by his great personal valor and gallant spirit of self-sacrifice in saving the life of a comrade, served to inspire all who observed him. His unyielding devotion to duty in the face of heavy odds reflects the highest credit upon himself and enhances the finest traditions of the U.S. Naval Service. He gallantly gave his life for another.
