I have a 6.7 cummins in a 2016 Ram.

Original batteries lasted until last year.

I replaced with Duralast AGM against my better judgement because there was an autozone right down the street when last batteries died.

They have lasted just over a year and i have a no start today.... that is pure junk. I am sure they are under warranty...not sure if i want to use them again

You should get a discounted price. I would use them for that reason if for no other.

Is your alternator working?

Many of the batteries are all made in the same plant. Wouldn’t doubt that the one I put in my truck from Walmart, an everstart, also an agm were made in the same plant and got different stickers. Had it for 2-3 years and no issues and full faith.

Alternator is definitely working. No start yesterday morning, drove 70 miles round trip to work and back with a start in the middle. This morning was no start again.

I guess ill take the free warranty battery but just another thing to do on a saturday

I bought my 2014 Cummins in 2015 with 15k miles, at 23k miles the batteries were bad. I put Northstar AGM remanufactured in and haven’t had a problem in 7 years and 190,000 miles.

North Star is a good battery

I have interstate AGM and I can start my truck with one. Think I’m on year 7

I’ll be changing out the original Motorcraft batteries on my ‘19 Superduty after the first of the year. Was planning on going with Interstate AGM series.

Deka produces the better battery currently. They make them with several labels, Alliance, Caterpillar, Napa, Duracell which is sold through Sams Club, and so forth and so on. Within their products they have several levels of quality, and you have to decide which one is for you. Just because it came from Brand X manufacturer does not mean they build the same quality for all retailers. I used to be an Interstate purchaser, but Johnson Controls builds them, Motorcraft and others. Quality had diminished over the last few years.

There was a thread here about a year ago where all major brands were rated and tested.

Overall, the Ever Start Maxx was the highest rated unit..... I know...... But I have used these batteries and they are great.

BTW..the best battery I've ever owned in my vehicle was OEM Toyota. Lasted six years and was still going when I switched. It was beginning to drag a little and I cant' take chances.

I don't know where the original Toyota batteries are made, but we got 6 years on the one in our 2003 4Runner and 7 on the 2011 4Runner. The replacement batteries (Interstate, Walmart, AC Delco) I have put in only last around 3 to 3-1/2 years.

Like garage door openers, two manufacturers make automotive batteries for the most part.

Don't make something easy difficult.

IIRC, our 2004 4Runner had a Panasonic battery OEM. I think I at least got 8 years out of it.

The factory battery in my 2015 ram made it 7 years. Left it sitting 3 weeks without driving it and had a cold snap it never started again.

Seems the auto makers are putting a lot of AGM batteries in vehicles today to support the higher electrical demands. Seems they should last longer than the one ones.

I use WalMart Everstart for most of my vehicles, they seem to last and there are WalMarts all over the place.

I change them out every 4 years so I don't have to worry about a dead battery. I have about 10 vehicles.

For my Honda vehicles I only use Genuine Honda Batteries and only use Honda Parts.

Battery failures are much less common than 20 years ago ... at least in my location.
