I already filled by buck tag for the year so I decided not to hunt this morning and stayed cooped up in the camper until the evening hunt. I got out a little early with some light rain still present. I saw a lot of tracks everywhere and saw deer almost immediately after getting setup so I was expecting a good hunt. I saw several does and bucks before the feeders even went off and also had a group of hogs come in at my South feeder downwind of me. I got setup but just as I got the scope on them the boar raised his snout and bolted with the rest following.

Shortly after that the feeders went off and the rain picked back up. I saw a few bucks but they quickly retreated back into the brush. Probably about 30 minutes before dark I heard more hogs close by and spotted a small group of 50 lbers cross the road to my South, again downwind but they never bolted which was good but they disappeared into the brush. About 10 minutes after that a group of larger hogs showed up in the road to my South past my feeder and worked their way about 10 yards before going back into the brush. I quickly got setup as I figured they were headed to the feeder.

Sure enough they come in running off a lone coon and I quickly drop one of the larger ones in the group. No sooner than I set my stuff down the coon is right back at the feeder paying no mind to the hog laying in the water. rofl I quickly get down and drag her off away from the feeder. I get back in the stand and now it is almost dark. I look at my North feeder at 200 yards and see something black. I get setup but can barely make it out with the rain and low light so I decide not to shoot in hopes it will return in the morning.

Overall I would say it was a great hunt and tomorrow should be even better once this weather passes.
