I was out there with my 12-year-old daughter & my teenage son couple of years back . We were in the parking lot (outer edge by road) target-shooting @ gourds with my sons new .22 . All of a sudden 2 men popped out with shotguns aggressively demanding we leave with his friend in the background adding "yea, & don't yall ever come back on this property!!". I was unaware that it had turned private property & there weren't any NO TRESPASSING signs. The aggressive talk scared the crap out of my kids & if they didn't have shotguns in their hands I would've let them know that it could've been handled differently. If they had a sign posted I would've definitely respected that to begin with. HOW DARE YOU POINT GUNS at my 12-year-old daughter & teenage son. Id LOVE to discuss this further with that property owner & his corny friend on neutral grounds if possible.

Sounds like an issue to take up with GW or LEO.

What made you think it was public property, or that you had the right to shoot there? You know it wasn’t YOUR property.
Without a picture or at least an MS Paint, I’ll assume you stopped on private property +/- were carelessly discharging firearms.
Unless I see more evidence, I’m going with “they did a good job of running you off”.
Excellent first post otherwise.

"A couple years back"
Why bring it up now? Discharging a firearm on unknown property is not a good idea.

Nine years of lurking on a forum has to be some kind of record.
Why would you think it is okay to be target shooting on land that you obviously don't own? Take responsibility for putting your kids in a bad situation.

Checking onX shows the school and all land around it to be private property. No public property of any sort encke would be able to access. He's lucky the owners didn't call the Sheriff and have him arrested for criminal trespass with a firearm.
To be sure of hitting the target, shoot first and call whatever you hit the target.www.NewHopeEquine.com - Health and Healing through Horses.

He's lucky the owners didn't call the Sheriff and have him arrested for criminal trespass with a firearm. I'm also surprised they didn't call the sheriff. The situation is unpleasant, but shooting with schoolchildren on someone else's territory is not a good idea.

What made you think it was public property, or that you had the right to shoot there? You know it wasn’t YOUR property. Without a picture or at least an MS Paint, I’ll assume you stopped on private property +/- were carelessly discharging firearms. But you have described information that will serve as an excellent lesson for other firearms training enthusiasts. According to write my essay in 1 hour https://papersowl.com/fast-essay-writing, there have been several gun incidents on private school grounds in the past year. Therefore, security measures must be improved. In any case, if the territory is not yours, then it belongs to someone. Unless I see more evidence, I’m going with “they did a good job of running you off”. Excellent first post otherwise. The post is really great, I think the author got a great life lesson, because the safety of children should be the most important thing. I do not think that he or those who read this will come up with the idea of training in shooting on foreign territory.
