Been running street tires for six years. 95% highway.

4WD Dually, and I avoid mud. Just want an all terrain, a slight step up from a street tire. Need the dually to still do dually stuff. 32' tandem dual, and a 16' dump bed with three 7k axles. The truck gets way less miles on it now, but I am needing a set before the roads get worse. Price is not a factor, only quality and longevity. Been reading lots of charts and reviews the last two days. But not everyone is running these tires on my type of truck.

First link isn't copying well for some reason.

I ran several sets of the Dura tracs on my Superduty SRW trucks, but had to replace at least one per set due to punctures where sidewall meets the tread. Changed over to Toyo A/T, not had this issue. Also had the same issue with Coopers on a dually.

I have the Open Country A/T III - Size: 275/55R20 on a f150 4x4. They're a little loud but seem to be fine for what I do, half on half off, had them less than 2 years.

Buddy of mine said to look at Copper S/T Maxx

He runs single wheel trucks. The online reviews weren't as good.

Couple miles from pavement down gravel to my house.

Coopers suck on a dodge. Pops has a single wheel. So, my opinion means nothing but they suck on heavy trucks.

My issues were always thorns doing the punctures.

In my line of work I can buy whatever I want

Y'all may argue and it don't matter to me, I have blank check

BFG All terrains, do not hold up....to me they look the best for what's that worth..but they suck

Goodyear Wranglers are solid, mid tier at best

Toyo's are solid and I think they are the 2nd best looking

Coopers are the best, not my favorite appearance wise

Nobody runs them harder than our guys, I aint here to argue

Toyo or Cooper goes on my personal owned

I’ve had about every tire they make on my diesel 3/4 tons….best one I’ve found are the Yokohama tires. Love coopers on a 1/2 ton but the SST max wore too fast on my diesel. Had wrangler Duratracs and actually like them, had about 35k on them when I sold them ( I’m guessing they had another 10k in them….gravel roads I run constantly chew them up). Had a set of Toyo M/T and Toyo A/T and didn’t care for either. The Yoko M/T I liked and the AT-X I have now I like….the bite isn’t quite as good as the Duratracs but they ride great and are not loud on the road.

Not a fan of anything made by BF Goodrich and I won’t even look at a Nitto.

Give the Yokohama’s a look, I’m going either bsck to Duratracs or Yoko M/T’s for my next set when these are done…it depends of availability

I worked at a tire store back when and we sold all brands. In my opinion you can never go wrong with Toyo or Yokohama’s.

some people like silver and gold
I like brass and lead with a little powder in between

What do you do? We have ruined 13 tires in one week with four pickups before. I would say that qualifies as being hard on them. We do seismic data acquisition. Things aren’t as bad anymore we utilize UTVs extensively and keep the pickups out of the nasty stuff. Coopers are good tires we have had good luck with them.

Of the two you narrowed down to, go with Toyo. Those GY tires on a heavy truck are terrible, I cannot count how many beds we have thrashed when they let go at 20-22k miles. When we get new units with GY rubber, they get replaced at 15k miles no matter what.

Question like this is going to get a wild variety of opinions but I will tell you I would not have a 4wd pickup without ATs on it, and I’ve been running tires like this on multiple pickups with mixed on/off road use for a long time.

I currently have 3 sets of cooper discoverer ATs on my personal pickups. Two are 4wd diesels and one is a 4wd 1/2 ton. Also have a set on my company pickup, a 4wd f250 gasser. Been through many sets of these on multiple pickups and they’ve worn as well as any and are usually are priced pretty well also. For sure cheaper than Goodyear, and usually a little cheaper than Toyo

Have also had a couple sets of Toyo open country ATs, they were good also but I probably wouldn’t buy them over coopers unless they were cheaper

I’ve also had Nitto ATs, my half ton came with them and I also tried a set on my dodge 2500. They didn’t wear well and one ended up blowing out on the 2500, which sucked and caused some damage. These are for mall cruisers more than work pickups I think, I wouldn’t buy again

Just buy the cooper AT3 and be done with it.

Edited to add: I see you’re putting these on your dually, I have some on my f350 dually that I regularly tow 20k with. If you want to see pics or get size info on what you can run without the duals touching PM me

Sure like my Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revo 3s, enough backroading capabilities and really road capable and quiet. Current set on my F150 4x4 are 55K miles with another 10K or so left on them per the guy that recently inspected the truck. One leak in 3 years of running them.

I've got the Toyo A/T's on my Ram 1500 and so far, I'm pleased. I only have about 12k miles on them and I'd buy them again given the performance so far.

I run the Toyo Open country AT3 on all my diesels , two which are 3500 crewcab 4wd duallys. Been thru them all and these have been the best for me. Yes, I haul a lot and pull a lot, and the Toyos have out performed all others

That's about all the push I needed.

3500 crew cab dually is what I drive. If you've already done the experimentation, no sense in me starting over.

Thank you.

Had 35in Toyo RT's on my F-150 that were great, but I had an alignment issue that killed them at 50k. Probably could have gone another 10k. Went to Discount for another set but none in stock and I didn't want to wait. Salesman sold me on the BFG KO2. Totally different ride and look as they are not that aggressive as the RT's. 2k miles so far and they perform flawlessly on the road and in the rain. Been to the lease a couple of times but no real mud to test them in yet. Good on the rocks though and time will tell with the mesquites. Damn tires are expensive whatever you go with.

There’s a reason every truck in my lease, including the rancher, runs BFG KO2’s, they simply hood up to the mesquite thorns better than any other tire and do well in our sand and clay.

The rancher has a feed bed on his dually, so it’s always got some weight on it that most trucks wouldn’t.

There is however a tire that you’re overlooking.

I’ve got a friend that runs a logging company up in the northwest and spends a few months a year in Alaska via the Alaska Highway. He runs them on all his trucks from 3500’s-5500’s and swears by their durability.

I'm not in sand, clay or mesquite thorns. BFG KO2, I'm out on. Myself and too many friends had bad experiences with them. Vortex Optics of tires.

Open Country CT is more aggressive than I'm wanting.

22 years of running the BFG’s and the only flat I had was from a chunk of metal the size of a baseball. It’s easy to get 60,000 miles with them.

And the Vortex of tires are Cooper or Nitto

Nitto are definitely the vortex scopes of the tire world
