HP always hovers right at the 5A/6A cut line. It hurts when they get bumped up by 20 or so kids and then competes with much larger enrollments. No complaints here though….given what we were when I was there, the last 15 or so years have been pretty spectacular. Not many coaches like Randy Allen!

6a enrollment starts at 2225, Guyer is currently listed at 2614. I can’t find a current number for HP.

Do you think maybe those turnovers were forced by a pretty good defense?

Hats of to HP they beat Lewisville which IMO is a school that can win the D1 title this year.

#1 Franklin Lions take on the Bulldogs of Hitchcock at Woodforest Bank Stadium at 7pm tonight. Calling for rain so hoping it won’t be to slick for our running game. Every time we have won the third game of the playoffs, we have gone all the way to the state game. So hoping we come away with a win!!!

The Lovelady Lions' win tonight against Carlisle advances them to the next round in 2A.

Well, we got beat. Southlake 42, McKinney 35. It was a good season, and we sure had fun pulling for them this year.

My best friend in grade school has a son that’s QB for Gunter and it’s been fun following. They just moved there this year from Melissa. He’s got 3 boys and they are all very good athletes.

Our boys had a good game last night despite the light rain. Hitchcock played in the rain last week and did pretty good but this time it played hectic on them. Our 2 top running backs got hurt towards the end of the game. Washington had to be helped off the field. Just hope it’s nothing serious.

I don’t know anything about Columbus other than they have lost one district game to Hitchcock which we beat last week. Should be a good game. If anybody here is from Columbus, I’ll give ya a heads up. Franklin is going to run the ball!!!

Chapel hill beat kilgore i thought worse than the final score looked.

This WAS the state game. What a game!!! Franklin was inside the 20, 4th down and about 6 with about 30 seconds left in the game with no time outs left. We was able to run it in for the winning touchdown!!! Our defense stood tall tonight. They stopped them on a 4th and goal at the one for a 2 yard loss. Stopped them again on downs inside the red zone. I thought we lost it when we went on a 4th and 2 deep in our own end of the field and didn’t make it.
Heck of a game!!!
