That’s what I thought as well, I’ve never won so much as a stick of gum out of all the raffles and football pots over the last 30 years I’ve gotten in on. It was about time,,

What I’m really thankful for is God allowing me to still breath on this earth and in this country. My second is my beautiful wife that has the heart of an angel, the backbone on a T Rex, the sense of humor of a comedian and the patience of a rock for putting up with my dumb butt all these years. Third is my daughter which turned out way better than I deserved and I didn’t have to pay for my raising, Fourth is the rest of my awesome family and fifth is for having a select few really awesome friends that would do anything I asked at the drop of a hat. Everything is is pure gravy, money comes and goes but the foundation your life’s built on is all that truly matters to me. The rest will work itself out.

I’m thankful for being above ground and ambulatory. My colon busted a year ago and I spent 25 days in ICU. They lost me twice during surgery and brought me back. After a long stay home and be careful period plus physical therapy, I started working to regain all of my strength. It’s coming along and I’m dang near back.

I’ll be 80 next week, am in better health and physical condition than the people I graduated from high school with. Went to my last meeting with Surgeon last week who told me that he almost lost me twice during the surgery.

I got to have Thanksgiving dinner with a bunch of my family.

I once went through a divorce and lost just about everything including the right to raise my children. Those dark days are behind me. My ex wife hasn’t aged well and is ugly as ugly can get.

Yessir, I have a lot to be thankful for.

We celebrate two Thanksgiving, first one at her boss's house where we are considered family and then with our other family.
Before the dinner Grace is said, it is their family tradition for everyone to share what they are Grateful for.

Everyone mentioned Family, almost all mentioned faith, a lot health and quite a few including me mentioned our current and past military folks and first responders.
Enjoy listening to people giving thanks for what they have instead of the other way around!

Something that I do not remember being brought up in the being thankful for conversation at our first stop was anybody mentioning friends?
I am very grateful for the good SOB's that I call friends and vice versa, all of them are generous, positive and fun to be around

James 1:17-19

17 Everything good comes from God. Every perfect gift is from him. These good gifts come down from the Father who made all the lights in the sky. But God never changes like the shadows from those lights. He is always the same. 18 God decided to give us life through the true message he sent to us. He wanted us to be the most important of all that he created.

Too many things to list but the most important is the cross and the fact that Jesus took my place on that cross. What an amazingly beautiful gift of grace!
