I'm not the biggest fan of turkey. My family is spread from San Antonio to Okmulgee, OK. We used to get together in Plano at my Grandmother's house. Meaning it was that way for over 60 years. She didn't want to live alone anymore (she will be 100 years old next month) so they sold the house and she moved to a retirement community. And we stopped getting together anymore, and I hated it! So, I got the word out, let's get this going again at my house. This is a big reason I built what I built, so that we could have big family gatherings again.

Fired up this dude at 0600 with a head lamp.

Pulled this 14 pound brisket last night at 8 pm, with a head lamp again. Smoked on Ballinger, TX mesquite.

Congratulations on getting the family back together again. We haven’t had turkey in many years. This year will be 6 racks of ribs, two pork butts, and a #10 ham. I started cooking early yesterday and hopefully will be done in 2-3 hours.

We do that too. Living here for two years now, the propane grill has never been fired up.

We cook it all on mesquite, even chicken.
