It really began late last week but today, the rut here in Menard is ON. All the cold and overcast weather has really jump started the rut. Be careful when driving the highways as deer are really stupid right now. There was a really bad wreck just east of Menard yesterday morning about 11:00 AM when a car hit a deer and then a tree and caught on fire.
Hogs are also moving in this cold wet weather and they are notorious for tearing up a vehicle.

Yep, the only bucks I'm seeing at feeders the last couple days are very young, and I jumped several more mature bucks ALL with a doe. The bucks paid no attention to me, and were 100% focussed on watching the doe... dead giveaway.
