Most Indians celebrate Thanksgiving. Most Indians aren't offended by the word "Indian". The offended ones are usually rich white people living in the city. Yeah, those LIBERAL, rich white people pat themselves on the back for being offended for us. My bet is we have come to a time when these "offended people" have never had to struggle to live. So they are bored, and they create drama. If they had to worry about food, water, and shelter every day, they wouldn't have time for this nonsense.

I don’t think about the pilgrims or Indians on Thanksgiving day. It’s about being thankful for what we have now. Same. Honestly, I don't give the slightest care to what happened 500 years ago. I focus on being thankful for what God has given me and enjoy the time with family. (Dickens, who has written about the media's distaste for Thanksgiving, added, "There is also a religious aspect to the holiday - expressing gratitude for blessings of faith, family and living in a free country -- that sadly many in the secular press are not comfortable discussing." ) These left wing Libtards will twist, turn, embellish and fabricate everything possible just to keep themselves in the spotlight while brainwashing future sheep!

We're winding down from moving. I found Apacalypto on DVD. I think I'll watch it. 'Course, I gotta wait until I'm in front of a DVD player, which I've taken to an undisclosed location further west. And, I really don't think we can judge between Cortez and an Aztec/Mayan/whatever King. It's called "lack of perspective".

Just like standing rock yelling about “their” land… how many tribes did the Lakota and Sioux exterminate and take their lands… how many Pawnee were massacred?

Who told them to bring a bow and arrow to a gun fight?

Some of us "olds" remember when Marlon Brando refused his Academy Award for The Godfather and had a beautiful Native American girl give a sanctimonious speech.
There wasn't a single drop of Native American blood in her. She was a plain ol' Mexican American...and a fraud. Wait a minute.......most Mexican Americans are of native blood....... Did the Mexican's screw themselves out of that distinction? Never understood why the Northern Mexico people didn't identify as Native Americans.

Don’t worry about what the media and outside sources want you to think about or ruin it. That article was written for engagement. Go have fun with family and be thankful for everyone and everything. Enjoy some fun relaxing time.
Take a sabbatical from social media like the THF if it causes stress. If you cannot escape stress for a bit then the problem is not news or Brandon. Search inward.

Read this and think for a bit. I know you’re smart and like history. Not trying to debate or argue with your statement but you really need to think deeply about what you just wrote from a geographically historical standpoint. The border was created by Europeans. It’s so wrong maybe it was a witty reply awaiting someone to catch it? I’m overwhelmed with disbelief like trying trying to calculate pi to the last decimal place. There’s no politics or politically correct at all in this. It’s about geographical history.

In the little village of San Elizario, TX, the El Paso County folks have a few stories about how the first Thanksgiving was held there in Coronado's day....can't remember all of the details. Northern Mexico and local Indios if memory is still functioning right.

This is like Groundhog Day every year on the Texas hunting forum.......
White people screaming at the top of the lungs how the Indians were mistreated. Offended white people screaming back at the other white people insults about Indians...... meanwhile Indians are like what the f***........ I didn't say s***... . What time is the game, and when do we eat.
Much like the whole BLM thing... .

"historians argue that these numbers were inaccurate as most written account of Aztec sacrifices were made by Spanish sources to justify Spain's conquest." Like I said, "victors" write the book/ Let’s say they were off by 95%, would that make it more acceptable? Why not? What the europeans did is acceptable. Seems nuts but the Aztecs would volunteer to be sacrificed, it was honorable and noble. That can be disputed too, depending on who wrote the book.

Yeah hook I remember reading 1491 and it discussed the sacrifices and compared them to the public killings of the Europeans. It does put it into perspective and the numbers are not far off.
To call natives savages is pretty shortsighted. They likely don’t hold a candle to many Europeans, vikings etc. the reality is before much could be documented of the natives, Europeans killed them off inadvertently through disease. If not for the disease through friendly contact the battle for America would not have been so one sided. There is evidence that their agricultural practices predate that of Europe. Through seeds found using carbon dating. Obviously the Mayans used calendars and math. They had formal education as well. All things that show that they were as civilized as Europeans. The one thing they never discovered is the wheel. Which is a huge leap for civilization.

Europe is being conquered by muzzies right now.
