Has anyone had any luck building a Turkey Roost? I have some electrical poles out at the lease and was thinking about getting some in the ground and bolt some 2x6 or 2x8 cross members on them. We have turkeys come through, but there are no trees except for 3 or 4 foot mesquite trees on our lease.
Any ideas would be great, I maybe wasting my time.

I would guess if tame birds will use it so would the wild birds, especially in that mesquite country. Interesting idea thanks for the pics Hetman up up

I bet they would use it.
We've seen turkeys roosting on powerlines along 287.

I bet if you could rig something to be like a canopy over the roost, it might be better. I imagine they'd prefer cover from above.

Seems like a lot of work. Can't you just figure out where they're roosting and put up feeders?
