This cannot be stated strongly enough. Fruitcake is the devil's creation. We used to sell the heck out of them in FFA during Christmas though.

My grandparents lived in Corsicana, so we would always go to Collin street bakery. I’m not, and never have been a fan ^^^^^
Not a fruitcake fan....but if I had to have one....it would be this one. My Brother lives in Corsicana and when we go to visit Him and his Wife we often stop at Collin St. Bakery and pick up a few things.

My mother made one that I thought was edible, but now - no thank you.

My wife makes three a year. Cake takes five hours to make from start to finish four of which is cooking. After it cools we begin soaking it for about a week with rum, brandy, or bourbon. She then cuts it into quarters of which we freeze three for the next three months. Here’s a piece of what it looks like.

That one looks good. Pretty dense.
The ones Costco makes were good, but didn't find one this year when I was there 2 weeks ago. I can't have much, sugar and carbs, but I do like to indulge.

Absolutely love fruit cake. X2 but my diabetes doesn't care for it. I still taste it a couple of times during Christmas.

I've tried them a few times over the years, because it sounded good when I was a kid. Gross. Kinda like eggnog. Some people like it, the rest of us are sane.

I like it. Asked my wife to pick me up one. She said “gross”. I asked if she ever tried it. She said no.
Don’t get me wrong. I can’t eat it more than once a year. But I do like it from time to time.
Surely another person likes it. Collin Street Bakery for the win! I like to slice it, then fry it in a skillet, and put a little dab of butter on it for breakfast. Neiman Marcus fruit cake is better the Collin Street. Hmmm...never tried Neiman Marcus. Is it $350 per fruitcake?

I’m gonna buy one from Collin Street and soak it in rum. Then I’m gonna eat it. Next year I’ll do it again.

Collin Street is pretty good. A lady at church used to make a great one too.

I’m gonna buy one from Collin Street and soak it in rum. Then I’m gonna eat it. Next year I’ll do it again. 603 wrap it in some cheese cloth place in a large container with a lid then sprinkle the rum on it maybe twice a day. Be patient and do this for a couple of days. Cut a sliver of it and if not moist do another day or two.

Love 'em from Corsicana, but way too expensive. Maybe try HEB.

The only fruit cake I’ve ever tried I guess is my mom’s pear cake and it’s amazing. She started making it when I was a kid from pears off a tree behind our house. It’s a bunt cake with a nice sugary crust.
I guess I need to try regular fruit cake.

I like the one Colin street makes
Haven't had it in years but never spit any out. I am a sucker for happy endings and strapped cowboys.
