Fruit cake is great. We had this discussion a few years back at a gathering. Those that said they hated it, or said it was gross had never tried it. We came to the conclusion that they disliked it because it is the popular thing to do.

I like it. Brought a couple to work last year and got people that "didnt like" it to try it. Most said it wasn't bad.

But I love baking my own. Lots of chopped dried fruits, and generous portions of dark rum, both before and after baking.

They have to age a couple of months, but well worth it.
