Seen that video before….snow leopards are my favorite cat since I was very young….amazing animals living in the most extreme environment!

Seen that video before….snow leopards are my favorite cat since I was very young….amazing animals living in the most extreme environment! The burst of speed the cat displays right at the last....is just incredible. Barely touching the rocks as it propels itself forward in what looks like 20' leaps. Then nails the sheep with NO regard to falling off the bluff. How it kept its hold on it....I just can't fathom, but I know one thing, I don't want to fight a Snow Leopard.

It really is. Also consider that somewhere in that melee....the Leopard had to go from catching it from behind....to grabbing it by the throat! Don't know if that happened in mid-air or during one of the several impacts...but surely it didn't get the sheep by the throat at first contact do you think?

What is so amazing is how they are both not dead or critically injured bashing against the rocks and ground so many times from that high up Yep, it was pretty brutal 'tumble' with contact on rock at certain times. The fact that neither animal experienced a sudden stop like you would falling and striking a flat horizontal surface helped, but surely both animals got roughed up pretty good. Some of the impacts were on snow, some on rock but forward momentum was maintained for most of the fall/tumble and that makes a big difference. It made me cringe to watch it the first time. I don't think a human would have survived it. Cat didn't even 'blink'....just slammed into the sheep, carrying it over the edge. Absolutely Wild! They'd have had to of brought in the 'Stunt Cat' if it were me being filmed.

One of my favorite snow leopard photos. They are such magnificent animals! For Big Cats I used to think the Puma/Mountain Lion was my favorite. Not any more. Those Snow Leopards are in a class by themselves. The speed in which that cat covered that rough, snow covered terrain is just mind blowing. Suckers definitely have a 'high gear'.
