You are certainly on to something in that area. Once you find a camp it is really fun as I have found dozens of points on one little high point of land near a creek on my place. Of course, I dig a lot but you seem to be finding a many on the surface. Look after rains and you will find previously unseen ones.

Plus you tend to develop 'an eye' for them the more you look. Sometimes its just an edge sticking out or something a bit out of place that catches your eyes.

They aren't always laying out in the bald open.

I don't hunt South Texas much anymore....but when I did, I had a bad habit of spending more time time looking at the ground than hunting.
