#BREAKING: A mid-air collision has happened at the Wings Over Dallas event at Dallas Executive Airport (formerly Redbird). A B-17 is involved. Other aircraft type uncertain. Debris is on Hwy. 67.

B17 Texas Raiders was flying at wings over Dallas when another plane struck it midair..... total loss.
I watched a video and I don't believe anyone survived.
I enjoyed that plane... it was based at the airport here in conroe and I saw it fly often.
Not many b17s left........
This is a gut punch to me...hoped to ride in that plane some day.
The pilots last flight was today as he was retiring.

Sad about the people and planes. Yup. In one of the videos I thought I saw a parachute attempt to deploy from the single engine plane that collided with TR. Too low and couldn't have done any good........

Other plane was a Bell P-63 Kingcobra.
Iāve seen those planes.

Never want to see that stuff..... the wife and I went to the airshow is san antonio this year, and saw that jet truck. She said that was her favorite part of the show. A couple of months later he died when his truck rolled over..... it sad that they died entertaining us.

Saw a video and dont want to see it again, but the p-63 comes in on a turn and just swipes right through the b-17 fuselage right behind the wing struts, tore the whole tail section off at or just past the bomb bay. Both planes total loss. No way any pilot had time to deploy a chute but chances are the single pilot was dead after the impact anyway.
Sad sad sad. And that it happened when so many saw it was terrible. Brings to light what many saw during WW2 except most of the time those crew were personally known by the witnesses. Tragic!

That makes me sick. I worked on and was a Flight Engineer on a Boeing 727 for many years. There is a saying, there are old and bold pilots. But there are no old bold pilots. May they all rest in peace.
