After 13 years of trying finally drew this tag. chicken Anyone else get drawn today?

What’s funny is this past spring I got a nice ram on our ranch that borders the park. roflmao Guess I now get to go looking for his big brother. Wife’s gonna kill me if I get another bruiser to wall hang. Anyone got a dog house I can borrow to sleep in? sleep2

Congrats on the draw! Hopefully your partner is a lot bigger and tougher, so they can pack all your stuff back out of the canyon. smile

When we drew a few years ago, I didn't think that it would be a tough hunt, and was pleasantly surprised by how much fun it really was. My buddy got a small ram and I missed a really big one down in the bottom of compartment 5 on the lower boundary. There are some BIG hogs down there also!!

Dave's partner is bigger, but I guarantee you he isn't tougher than Dave! We have a very short window for his partner to get in climbing shape and drop a few lbs!

Congrats on giving it a try anyway. The bigger and older you get, the slower you get. The secret is to just never stop!!

Hiking sticks or a bipod you can use as a walking stick…
One thing I learned was to stage water as we hiked in. I dropped a bottle at the bottom of the canyon before hiking the north side. Sure was nice to pick up before that last hell of a hike back up to camp.

Not tough enough I guess. I’m laid up in bed with wicked case a flu and had to skip hunt. Hope the lucky standby hunter turns out to be a decent partner for NDN98. frown 13 years of points pissed away by a flu bug. barf

Hope you get better soon. The wife and I picked it up when we were at Lake Livingstone area. I managed to drive back to AZ, and then was flat on my back for two days!!!

That’s terrible. Sorry to hear, but you know just as well as anyone that the canyon is the last place you’d want to hunt with the flu. Definitely not like climbing into a heated stand.
