This typ 9 scores 159, 25 inside and 25 beams. Maybe that will help. I’m rushing to lease now and I’ll try to look close later to offer opinion. ![[Linked Image]](https://texashuntingforum.com/forum/pics/userpics/2022/11/full-45514-369077-51623bc0_3118_4c06_8217_5bdc894e64d8.jpeg)

I got 144 but big frames make all deer look bigger than their scores, he looks really nice. Without prior pics and given that these are from September, he looks 6+ to me

If Free's was 159, I'm thinking more low to mid 150s. Free's has slightly longer tines but Gros' may have more mass and spread.

Those type deer always confuse me but I’m going to say upper 40’s to low 50’s. We don’t have wide deer around here so I have little to no experience judging them.

Heck of a great 9!
Don't know where this is located but it'd be nice to know to help with the age & score.
He looks 5.5 in some pics and 6.5 in others and could be even over 6.5. If you have 3 years history of him, do you have pics of him 2 years ago?
23-24 inside 104-106 Down 45-47 up 149-154
High fence, low fence, no fence, it really doesn't matter as long as you're hunting!

#1----its a BIG/MATURE buck, so its time to hunt him
#2--I would think that buck is around 150" but regardless of score, he is AWESOME!!

I think he is right at 152" He could be 6.5 years old but I suspect 5.5.

From the pic I would guess 162-164” The OP’s deer, low to mid 140’s. But who cares he’s a beautiful deer.
For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

I think that beam is really long. I got mid 150s. Maybe more. 24 wide. 5 or 6. I’ve learned that if you miss judge the beam length then you misjudge it all. He’s unusual so I could be way off.

143-145 gross. Looking at the pictures from 2 years ago and the loose skin in the bend of his neck now, I would guess 7 1/2 on age. I like the frame but I don’t think the beam length is as long the frame makes it appear. The beams don’t sweep back out of the head and the ends of the beams don’t have much wrap or sweep. I gave mass 28”. Cool buck. I like the big frames. 20”-21” Inside. He may be score higher than I think but if I was hunting him, that’s what I would think I was hunting based on the pictures. Seeing him on the hoof could change my guess. Since you have three years of history with the deer, what is your estimated age and score?

Thanks for all the comments. I think he's 6.5 and possibly 7.5. I'm giving him a 100 inch frame (24 spread, 48 MBs, and 28 mass), and 47 inches in tines.
I passed on a big framed mulie with a weak front fork in 2017 and it has haunted me ever since. I'm not saying a 147 inch 9 pointer is a low scoring deer, but I do think he would be as impressive on the wall as a lot of higher scoring deer.

Here are a few pics from last year. Without a doubt he is 6.5+ this year! He'd be on my hitlist for sure. I love big framed deer!!

Looking at the pics of him from last year I think he has a little less mass than I was allowing. His beams may fool though being that he is so wide and so will some other things on him. Big frame deer always score better than what I can add up looking at them. lol I still think he is going to end up right on 150 or a bit better.
