Agree. Regardless of her political views, I believe she would let us know, simply based on how much this forum meant to him after his wife passed.

I'm hoping he's okay, but perhaps a medical issue arose and he's not capable of posting yet? I've not been able to locate an obituary for him. His son-in-law has not posted anything about Bill on his facebook, either.

When his wife passed they didn't do any obituaries

I think the estate sale was for her stuff, not Bills, but I could be wrong. Maybe she moved since it was back in December 2021.

No, they sold his house. The estate sale was for his stuff. They have moved to Georgia and he is there with them.

Got it

Bill was successful in life, had a beautiful wife, and a very smart daughter both which he obviously loved. The guy did well for himself. If you care about his post count is says more about you then it does him.

Hope all is well Bill.

It`s kind of sad that we do not know if Bill is still alive with health issues or if he has passed. I guess as long as we are still talking about old Bill, at least his memory is still alive among us. I personally always liked his comments that only he knew the meaning to sometimes. I`ll bet we all have days like that. I sent him a few private messages over time and always got a thoughtful reply. cheers

Bill was cool. He was just an old guy. I hope I can still post somewhat at 86 years old. I understood Bill, he is my dad's age and my dad says silly stuff too.
I also hope that when the day comes that it is time to hang up the iPad that I have the wherewithal to give a farewell post my internet friends.
It would be cool to hear from Bill again, even if it was only a final goodbye.

As a group, we miss Bill. I sure would like to know if he’s still kicking. As time went on, he did seem a bit less focused, but I’d rather have him here unfocused than not here at all. And I sure hope I make it to 86. If so, and still mentally capable, I’ll be here and pestering a few of you. Not sure what an 86 year old guy will have to say, but “hum a few bars and I’ll fake it”.

Has anyone thought about reaching out to his daughter on FB? I don’t do FB but those of you that do could look her up and just have her let him know we’re thinking of him. We’ll see if he is still kicking and just taking a break or not.

I like Bill. He shared my love of family and bird dogs and had some real life wisdom with regard to both. He also used to fish some of the same inshore water I fish and had an understanding of it. When he got too old to get out and do it anymore he had a lot of memories that he shared. Some here belittled him for that. If you live long enough that is where all of us will wind up one day….
Godspeed Bill.

I talked to his daughter a few years ago on Facebook when Bill didn’t post for a few days. He had lost internet service during that time. I haven’t been able to bring myself to message her this time. Been thinking about it for a few weeks now. Bill and I have had a pretty long conversation goin on in PMs.

If some of us belittled him a bit, it might be because we were actually older then him and could find reason. Just saying

Would somebody post a picture of their utility bill?

Just for old times sake...

Add me to those who enjoyed his posts, couldn't care less about his post numbers, miss him and wish him well.

I have unsuccessfully tried to contact both his Daughter and his SIL with no luck. They have their FB accounts setup where you can’t message them. I will continue trying to get some of the families attention.

Or knowledge that age doesn't necessarily make a wise man, or one to be idolized.

For me it's more about respect than judgement.
