Just looking for a general price per foot. I realize terrain, gates, water gaps, etc effect the price.

Back 30 years ago was $12-15K per linear mile down in South TX; my understanding nowadays in North TX is $30-40K depending on whom does it...

Around $7/ft, depending on grade of materials and such.

Just to pen up a deer. I’d say more to pen out dumb [censored] hunters that shoot every 3 year old buck,

I recently acquired a 350 acre HF and I got two quotes to see how much the fence was worth and they were both just over $7/ft not including water gaps and gates.

Just had 2 quotes last week. No dozer work #1 $5.90 per foot corner and H braces $850 each, gates $700 each #2 $6.80 per foot corner and H braces included in price $500 for gates.
No water gaps and no dozer work. 2 3/8" line post every 100' regular pipe. H brace and corners 2 7/8" to 4" regular pipe, T post galvanized every 20'.

Just to pen up a deer. There's always one. We leased 10K acres north of Sanderson. No protein fed. Some on here called it a pen. Stupid bastards. LO put it up 'cause the neighbors were pricks. Low fence, lessee sanctimony.

I guess; but then aren’t you shooting a penned deer? I would check with the “local” farmers to see who they use.

I get why people don't like high fences, I'm not a fan either, but what can you do when neighbors shoot every legal buck they see. I didn't buy my place 24 years ago to shoot 16" 8pts. I enjoy hunting mature bucks.

Hell with the deer, think about the ease of gathering cattle. I’d HF just so I would ever have to patch a fence from top hand punchy Bobo Jr.

Deer hunting is not the only reason high fences are put up. I found that I could make a lot more money raising Ibex. They don't stick around with only a low fence.

I was thinking the other day how nice it's been over the past years not worrying about my cattle getting through or over. Good point.

Many years ago I had a neighbor that had 6 stands and feeders either on my fence, or within 100 yards. I talked to the lease guy and he told me to F off. So I talked to the landowner and he said there was plenty of deer, he wasn't hurting anything. February after deer season the fence went up. He moved all his stands. That guy was a lot of trouble, glad he got kicked off a few years ago. New guys seem to be better guys, but they still shoot young deer.

Had this nice 4yr old 10pt last year, he got broke up some. Was trying to get him to 5 or 6 but guess what, he got across the fence. He's gone now. I have about a dozen stories that end the same way. I'm tired of feeding and growing and passing up deer for the neighbors to shoot.

Need a 17HMR and start shooting beams off I can’t believe they shot him after looking at the good unbroken side and what he would of been
