I have a bunch of this stuff coming my way. It has a burn rate similar to H1000. I know the VV 5 series of powders are double base, but more temp stable. I plan to be using a lot of this powder soon. Anyone use it?

I used n550 in my 300wsm. It's a little more temp sensitive than the extremes but very manageable. The one thing I noticed the most...damn it burns clean. I've bought some n560 and n570 since because of the experience with the n550. I helped a buddy work up a load in his 300wsm and n560 is working well there too. I would use them but I would be more hush hush about it...we don't need that stuff completely drying up like the others

Close to Ramshot Magnum. I had a chance to buy a couple of 8 pounders earlier this year but passed on it. If you get a bunch extra I might like to try it in something like a 7mm PRC ??

I am using it in 22Creedmoor / 6.5 PRC/300 PRC with good results. I would agree it’s similar in performance to H1000. It’s not for the Ricky Bobby’s looking to maximize velocity like Reloder 26 but it’s not a slouch either.

Running it in a 6.5-284. I have not experienced any large speed changes with temp.

I run it a lot. It’s a great powder in a lot of calibers. It’s one of the best combos I’ve ran in 7 saum and 180 hybrids. In fact I have 3 7 saums on the same action and barrel and they all shoot the same load to the T. No I didn’t just try them in them. Ran pressure ladder. Confirmed ladder at 600 and did seating on all three. Ended up with the same load. How many times does that happen. It’s one of the best for me and 215’s in 300 win mag. It also works great in 30 Nosler I have recently found. It will push the bullets a little harder than h1000 but not much. H1000 of course is more stable and is easier on the throats. But all in all it’s a great powder than seems to be pretty stable form single digit temps to 70’s. Never shot it much over that temp.

Waiting on cooler weather though.
