I planted some oats Sunday and got a good 1" rain on Monday. More rain is expected tomorrow but there's still plenty of moisture in the ground. I've never planted oats before. How long before I should start seeing them sprout?

I had some pop up in 3 to 4 days if the water hits right and soaks in. 2 weeks if it runs off too quick.

Wheat can be just a few days, don’t know for sure on oats.

about 7 days.....if we get more rain this Friday, your plots will be see a big improvement by early-mid next week and will look great by opening weekend

Agreed. Also planted Sunday and got .9" Monday, Lord knows how many " today. It'll be booming next weekend.

I got 3/4" on Monday and 1 1/2" today. Hopefully, that will get them going.

Mine were planted last Friday and the entire plot had a greenish tint to it today. Some spots were darker green. Today's 1.5 plus rain will set them for several weeks.

About a week is right. Now ask how long it takes hogs to find it.

Took about 3 days for hogs to find the peas I planted and mostly wrecked that food plot. Grrrrrrrrr!

Replanted ours two weeks ago, got rain about 3 days later. Right now the plots are 3-4" tall with deer already grazing them.

This is my oat patch yesterday, 7 days after 1/2 inch rain. Getting more this week. Should be good opening weekend in Arkansas.
Had been in the ground for 3 weeks before rain came.

Great edge cover there, should have deer on that pretty soon. I like to plant in long narrow strips also.

I have found that long narrow strips in-between tree cover and a field work best for me instead of a big square food plot.
This one is 300 yards long.
But I know that sometimes you just have to use what the land owner will let you use.
