A professor (at Texas State, I think) is gonna talk about the drought the evening of November 9th in New Braunfels. I sure would like to hear it, but I'll be in the middle of moving houses. I'm gonna have to haul protein soon. I wasn't here (Kimble County) in 2011, but this is depressing.

No crops, or cattle. My tank doesn't seal anyway. (Caliche only at this point.) bang The wife wants to bring in clay. For wildlife?! It's not a "show tank" out in front of the house. mad

What’s he gonna say, it’ll rain eventually?

We got only 1/8" several days ago and then the front dumped almost 1 1/2" on us Monday night. Boy did we need that.

Only 1/2" on the last rain. I'm way beyond dry out here. I'm about 14" behind for the year.

Did that 1/2" help with any of the seeds planted? Maybe more this Friday.

Praying for you in West, Texas and South.

My Montague County tanks/ponds are down about 4 ft. A couple of small ones are history.

Need rain

We are in bad shape also and need a flood at this point. 5 out of 6 tanks are bone dry, the one that does have water in it is extremely low. Hogs have just about disappeared, I think they moved down towards the Brazos which is about 2 miles away. I was lucky and timed it right and got all my food plots drilled in last Sunday, we got a little over an inch the next day. Hopefully with this next round it will shoot up out of the ground pretty quick.

I try not to get my hopes up, been burned to many times this year.

My pond is still dry, I lost all my fish and all my duck holes are dry.

Very depressing

Hauling water to the cows, it's that or the sale barn. Deer are coming to the water tanks.

Bill Oxner was pretty much a THF legend. He was elderly and fun to mess with. He just kinda disappeared and we really don't know what happened to him. If you look to the left, you will see his name as the #2 poster here on the THF. Next time you're enjoying your drink of choice, Give a little toast to OX.

We got a 1/2 inch Monday. It softened the ground so I could FINALLY disc the food plots. Spent all day Tues and Wed getting 5 acres plowed, planted, and fertilized. Hope we get some of this forecast rain Friday!

More rain???
I've had .5" in the last 60 days! My place looks like the Sahara Desert after sub zero freezes!!!!!

I was shocked at how much grass and how green it was in LaSalle county this past weekend! Hell, 3 of the feeders had water standing under them and the deer were snorkeling for corn under them! smdh

High fence, low fence, no fence, it really doesn't matter as long as you're hunting!
