Somehow, they try to make you feel bad/guilty by saying you don`t care for the children if you don`t want to overspend millions for a FB stadium. Luckily, I`m not in the district by a few miles for now. It's the school board telling the taxpayers that it will not increase your taxes that is BS and a lie.

I went through this in Katy. We have 2 nice stadiums now, sharing a parking lot…

Why have just one when you can have 2 at twice the cost. Lol

I think ours came in at $70M as well. It’s shared with all 3 of the high schools in McKinney, and it was paid for out of a 200M+ bond that got approved. Had some structural issues right after building that had to be addressed, but hopefully all that is in the past.

It’s a super nice stadium.

I’d rather go there than any other stadium I’ve ever been too.

Our Franklin Lions are at 8-0 and ranked #1 in 3A Division I. We play Cameron Yoe this Friday. This game will decide district winner. So, pretty sure we are in. Just hope we go in at the top seed.

It wasn't two built at the same time, they built the new one in the parking lot of the older one. Katy is a big school district, one stadium can't do it all.

Katy certainly needed another stadium! What are they up to now? Is it 9 total 6a high schools?
Kinda hard to play all those games weekly on just one field............4 or 5 games a week doesn't work with one stadium unless you want to have 3 scheduled for saturdays!

But building them side by side with one parking area seems a little crazy to me

It's up to 9, I guess the good thing about building the new one next to the other one...you already own the land.

Does Katy only have 2 stadiums for 9 high schools? That doesn't seem like nearly enough.

It is, where I live there are 12 high schools and two stadiums. They just play the games Thursday through Saturday.

That’s a little different, guess facts matter in this case. But did they build it with suites?

My kids school went to state last year, but it doesn’t look like they’ll make the playoffs this year. I check back on my old stomping grounds and see that it looks like Gunter will probably go a long way this year again. I’m surprised to see Bells has a good team this year. Back in the day, Bells was a team you looked past. Good for them.

#1 ranked Franklin took on #6 Cameron Yoe last Friday night. We played our best game of the season so far.
Franklin 63
Cameron 7
Our offense rushed for over 600 yards. One more game and it’s off to the playoffs.
Little River Academy, you’re up next.

I went and watched bells vs Blue ridge and Bells was in another league. Had a back that was a man amongst Boys.

Gunter population wise is a lot bigger than everyone else in that district. Van Alstyne probably is close to them but everyone else it’s not a good matchup. Surely they’re close to bumping up

Frisco Reedy is who I cheer for. Undefeated. I fish with their Head Coach, Chad Cole. GF's Grand kid goes there. Fun to go to the STAR in Frisco and watch the games.

Duncanville is really good this year, so is SOC again.

I don't see anyone stopping Franklin this year except themselves if they make too many mistakes or have key injuries.
They are talented!

9 games and the average margin is 28 ppg.
That whooping they put on Yoe was more than noteworthy!

Reedy has a dang good team. They pulled out the 10-0 regular season last week with a squeaker over Heritage.
I think they stand a good chance of getting to the R2 finals but Longview will be standing in front of them and that will be a tough row to hoe.

It’s playoff week!!!
#1 Franklin (10-0) will be playing Halletsville (7-3) Thursday night in Waller!!
Don’t know anything about that team other than they topped state ranked Hitchcock in the regular season.
Anybody here from around there???

I’ll be rooting for Hallettsville as well. Heck of a first round match up.

After years of being a strong contender in East Texas, I don't believe Lufkin won a district game this year. Surely the locals will give a coach at 5A or below a chance to move up.

Santo (9-1) plays Seymour (8-2) in Clyde on Friday.

I don't think anyone around here in 2A will be able to beat Tolar (10-0). They have been blowing teams out by 50 points.
