Have you ever been driving down the road and had a feeling you forgot something and just couldn’t remember what it was? I went to a friends house this morning to chronograph a new rifle so he could order a CDS cap from Leupold and did just that. I got sidetracked before leaving and forgot my LabRadar was still on the bed of the truck and had a strange feeling on the way home I’d forgot something, about 10 miles down the road it hit me what it was. I stopped to check and it was MIA so I backtracked only to find someone had already picked it up and it was gone gone. I felt like an idiot but this was the first time I’d lost something doing this so worse things could have happened, that is until I found out the models with Bluetooth still aren’t available and I’m probably SOL finding a used one so now I’m pissed and drinking beer the rest of the day until I forget about it Has anyone else ever donated your possessions to the needy roadside bandits by means us forgetfulness?

Yep lost a pair of Nikon binoculars that way long time ago..
Had an interesting situation in the grocery store parking lot about a week ago. While waiting to turn I noticed the car that was already driving down the lane that I wanted to turn into had a Blue leather or vinyl bag on his roof above the driver side. It was a middle aged guy driving a nice Mercedes so I speed up tryin to catch him honking my horn, flashing my brights and he is basically running/driving away from me like I am crazy. He finally stops gives me a WTF look I signal for him to roll down his window, he does and I shared with him about the blue bag on the roof. He all of the sudden became extremely nice and thanked me big time. Wonder what was in that Blue bag?

When I was a little kid my mom was driving me to school and stopped in the middle of the road. When she got back in she had a huge "to me at the time" revolver. She went to the local police station and told the dispatcher she had a gun in the trunk that she found in the road. A Sgt came outside, looked at it and said he would be right back. Shortly, an embarrassed looking officer came out and the Sgt made him ask her for his gun back. It turned out he lived down the road, was loading up to go to work and left it sitting on the top of his personal vehicle.

Pair of glasses sat on the side of the truck bed at the lease. They must have fallen off while backing away from the feeder and oops run over by me.

Spare set of keys on bed cover...oh well, chit happens.
I am still looking for the perfect apron, one with reinforced knee areas would be perfect.

I lost my BlackBerry off the truck on the highway, but I found it, only to drop it in the river at the boat ramp.

Lost my big toolbox off a flatbed a few years ago on a rough dirt road. Luckily I had written my name and phone number on it. A young man I know found it and brought it to me. I gave him a hundred dollar bill. Still some honest people out there.

Few years ago, watched a drone make a hard landing in the grass median. Moderate traffic in both directions didn’t see anybody stop.

I saw a Maglite roll off the top of a service body as he made a turn. He was hauling ^$$, I never would have caught him. It's the big one that can double as a blackjack. 'Keep it in my nightstand. Walking in my neighborhood (hilly, curvy, and used to be without any center striping) I've found several things. A single-blade Moormaker knife that just needed a little glue on the handle and THE best pair of limb loppers that I've ever used, Austrian made.

I got REALLY close once. Set my Kimber Micro 9 on the bumper while I attached the trailer. Drove off and made it 44 miles to Mesquite before it dawned on me. Called my neighbor and asked him to check the driveway and of course he didn't see it. Decided to pull over near Town East Mall and check and damn if it wasn't lodged between the bottom of the tailgate and the bumper. Dodged a HUGE bullet that day.

Went fishing one morning, and when we pulled the boat out I noticed a shoe in the parking lot where we were draining the bilge. I commented to my son- what kind of idiot would lose a shoe in the parking lot. After removing my flip flops I realized it I was the idiot! We never found the left one.

Helped a lady tie down some lengths of PVC pipe over the top of her car at a Lowe's store once. I could see she hadn't considered how she was going to get them home...so I offered to help. After getting it all secured with shipping twine, off she went (with my Puma Duke Folder) on top of the car! Somehow I had left it up there after cutting the tag ends of the twine off! Went back to the parking lot when I realized what I had done...but no luck finding it. Someone got a nice knife. Never did that again. https://pumaknifecompanyusa.com/Puma-Duke-Stag-German-Made-Folding-Hunting-Knife-P11.aspx

A lawyer my wife worked for drove off with a large folder of client files on top of his car. Most of them he watched floating down the Trinity river…….He was a highly educated and very smart person.

He had just helped a mom with a little kid load something. He mistakenly dropped his keys in the back of the SUV instead of his pocket when he helped her. I told him he’s probably never see those keys again, especially since she had a Missouri license plate .

I found an Echo weedeater in the Academy parking lot years ago at spring creek and the tollway once. The car in front of me swerved to miss it, I stopped looked around and waited to see if someone was coming back for it. No one seemed interested so I put it in the truck and drove home. Turned the on switch on, set choke pulled the starter rope and it fired right up, still using it today.

I left my Son strapped into his car seat on the tailgate after leaving Lowes. Luckily when he slid off at the intersection he rolled a few times and landed car seat down in the ditch, not a scratch on him. Now he wants to be a stunt double in Hollywood. Tuff lil' chit.

I was filling up with gas at a convenience store one time and watched the Miller truck drive off and leave an unopened case of Miller High Life bottles sitting in the drive way. I picked it up and gave it to a drunk I worked with. Made his day!
