Is it a good attractant or just a good source of protein that they will eat if available? Trying to offer something that will make my place a little better than the neighbors. Will the hogs and coons really not eat it?

WT and axis took to it immediately at our place outside of junction. I’ve heard others same it took time for them to get used to it. It does cause the bucks to become temporarily sterile — has a natural chemical that decreases testosterone. It’s best to put out in Jan/feb post rut to help post rut recovery
Try roasted soy or peanuts.

It does cause the bucks to become temporarily sterile — has a natural chemical that decreases testosterone. This have been mostly debunked, particularly when using it as a supplement. You may have problems if you stand them in a pen with nothing else, but they can't eat enough free choice when mixed with browse and other options.

We tried cottonseed this year. It took a couple months but man, they loved it. I’ve read a couple things that says to only offer it from antler drop to the end of velvet so that’s what we did. I was really surprised how much they loved it. The pigs never paid it any mind unless the corn feeder slung corn in it. It’s a great alternative.
If you're coming for mine, you better have yours!
