Buds is the only shop that seems to have it in stock. Haven’t ordered from them before but thought they are all good. But then as I was working through the order getting up charged to ship the firearm insured to the FFL dealer, then trying to tack on a warranty for $50, and 3% for using a credit card. Started to feel more like buying a car than ordering a firearm.

All of that mess worth it?

A lot of the online retailers seem to tack on a pretty hefty credit card fee. I personally like EuroOptic, but they are geared towards hunting long guns. I also had a good experience recently on gunbroker. I use a really good independent local FFL who lives close to me and refuses to even accept any $ on his end, so it certainly cuts down on those added fees.

I haven’t ordered from them in a while because their prices are normally beat these days. But they’re good to go. I use the ACH option so no CC fee and decline the warranty and insurance options. They’re just up selling stuff like any other business. I just ignore it and keep on trucking. They’re definitely good to go as far as shipping and receiving your firearm.

Have bought several from Bud’s over the last couple of years. They are GTG.

As others have stated Bud’s is GTG. When I have bought from them, I choose the check ACH option to get the cash discount. It may take a day or two for it to clear but I am in no hurry.

Just recently purchased a revolver from them. Felt nickel and dimed. Only place that had what I wanted. I'd rather buy from Sportsmen's Outdoor Superstore.

Another vote for BGS.. They are good to go but they will nickel and dime you while you search for the bottom of the barrel price. Good luck, YMMV.

Agree, Buds used to be the lowest price on the internet mostly with free shipping. Sportsman Outdoor Superstore is who I started ordering through, no BS up charges and always free shipping.

only would buy FTF. Shipping and all these add-ons are merely greed. 3% CC fee is a no no for me.

what gun is it that you couldn't find elsewhere? I bet someone on here could find one without all the BS to go along with it.

They are in business to make money. You get nickeled and dimed because they get nickeled and dimed too by their credit card processors. If you want the convenience of using a credit card you have to pay the fees that they pay. If you want to save the 3% send them a cashier's check or have them draft your bank account.

Edit, if you think their shipping fees are high you should try opening a UPS or FedEx account of your own and see exactly what it would cost you to send the same package to them. I'll clue you in, it ain't cheap.

I agree with the shipping stuff. We have a FedEx and UPS account for our CBD business and we’re talking most all packages are less than one pound and their shipping is outrageous compared to USPS for same package. Even when I ship cutting boards that are big and heavy USPS still beats them by 10 dollars or so.

On the CC fee I don’t agree. I don’t upcharge my customers just because I get charged a transaction fee it’s just the cost of doing business. Actually just ate a charge yesterday on $1300 bucks that was around $40, I’d never ask my customer to cover my fees.

Winchester SX4 3.5” waterfowl. Buds is at $879. No one seemed close for the price.

The irony of this post. Get an email today, please contact us there is a problem with your order…

Turns out the shotgun that was priced $1-300 less than all others wasn’t in stock. However they did knock a couple dollars off the next cheapest equivalent.

I’ve had Buds experience where I bought something that they didn't have in stock. I could wait or cancel.

But I’ve had good luck with Buds or Kygunco. I havent bought a gun in store in over 10 years. My experience is that brick and mortar stores can’t do the kind of prices the few big online retailers can now. It’s like buying autoparts at local Napa store vs rockauto.

There cant be much profit margin on guns. Maybe somebody here knows the percentage?

Only a few points profit margin on guns (some expectations apply). There's much bigger profit on accessories, ammo, services and range if a shop can swing it. Gun itself is the starter kit. New, small shops will struggle with allocation given to bigger, more established shops. Distributor salesmen work on 100% commission. They are going to give priority to their bigger accounts versus smaller ones.

Two of my local ffl told me they won’t do transfers from buds, guess the low prices might have ruffled a few local feathers..
