How old are you? When I was young stuff like this seemed like a great idea. At 46 I think I would be so stoved up from trying to sleep in a truck that I couldn't get out in the morning. RV's aren't that expensive unless you want something fancy. You can get an older smaller trailer that will work great for the hunting lease for not much coin.

For years I slept in a 1988 dodge ram charger...had a army sleeping bag...with a blow up mattress.. I would lay in the sleeping bag and look up and see the stars as the Ram charger had curved in windows at the top. Sights of the outside but convinces of inside..I loved that.

Couple years back my buddy decided he’d store some bags of corn inside the trailer to keep it from getting eaten by rodents. Wrong. When we got to the trailer on opening weekend there were mice everywhere! We’d just be sitting there and out would pop another one. That night I zipped myself up in my mummy bag, but those bastards were everywhere and I could feel them running across me. Couldn’t get any sleep feeling and hearing them scurrying around all night, so I moved to the truck.

DId it a bunch with my S/10 Blazers and Jimmys, especially the four door versions. Starting in the late '80s to as recently as a couple years ago. I'm right at six foot and I would lay the back seat down, put my feet between the front seats and my head against the tailgate; just enough room. Had a nice mattress/sleeping pad. Did it solo and hunting/camping with groups. Just think about what you really need to take/have with you.

Used to do it in my 12 passenger van. With the seats removed I had plenty of room for a cot.

An unethical shot is one you take, that you know you shouldn't.

Back when I was younger I had a topper on my truck and then put a 3/4 inch piece of plywood on top of the wheel wells in the truck bed and braced the front and back of it so it was level and sturdy. I then put on top of it a 3 inch piece of foam with my pillow and sleeping bag. Storage of my stuff was was then under the plywood or in the back seat of the truck. In the winter I had extra blankets if needed and during the spring, fall, and summer I had windows that slid open to give me a draft.
