I have an opportunity to make a deer hunt near Hebbronville, TX, pretty much the date of my choosing. This is a long way from where I normally hunt. It’s a large low fence ranch. Can anyone advise when I should go? Full moon I believe is 12/7. Thanks in advance

If you're allowed to shoot a buck, the rut normally starts mid December.
I used to be on a nice lease near Hebbronville (SE), LF just under 1,000 acres in a prime area. Lots of good deer, pigs, javalina, and turkey.

If you are buck hunting, hunt the rut. If you are meat hunting over a feeder and trying to plan too far in advance to predict the weather, a daytime moon is a good time to be in the field.

For sure Xmas through early Jan. Down there with colder temps, I've seen them go at it as early as Thanksgiving to early Dec.

Christmas through New Years time frame is where it’s getting good rut wise. I hunt this area on a much smaller tract of land but this is true.
