Okay I'm an idiot, no question there. I was driving by the Matador WMA and couldn't find the entrance. There was a dirt road almost opposite the picnic area but I was in a hurry and didn't have time to check it out. The Texas gudie has the Middle Pease but the road signs have North Pease and South Pease. Nice area for deer, I was actually thinking rabbits, dove, quail but not sure how good it is for them.

You enter the east side off FM 3256.

It's been a few years of drought out there so the quail numbers are not good. Their quail count numbers are always posted. I haven't been there in years now cuz of that. From last year, that looks about like this year:
Quote
We wrapped up our 2021-22 quail season. A total of 279 hunters harvested 155 quail. Hunter days were 457 for an average of 0.34 quail per hunter day.

Dove and rabbits can be good but are unpredictable, too.

Two ways in. One is opposite the office and check-in station.
For the second, Drive past that and you will pass a campground on the left.Keep driving and the pavement will end in a second camp ground. Drive through that campground and there is an entrance in the back.

We all need to practice Whoa more.
