Post photos and explain how you outfit your hunting vehicle to carry a rifle

I typically carry 3 rifles in the Kawasaki mule (BTY by far the best and most reliable UTV) as follows:

Day rifle directly in front of me for fast access during daylight hours, this rifle moves forward at dark and the thermal sighted rifle moves in it's place. I also have a rifle overhead primarily for shooting beavers, coons and skunks.

Once it gets cool enough to need my windshield the "All Rite" holders that are holding the thermal rifle in the picture will come off and I'll use the ones mounted on the front rack.

Components:

Big Sky brand BSR-1 gun rack (mounted overhead)
Various brackets were made by one of my ranch hands

I don't have any pictures of mine as it is at the ranch but I have this in my mule pro fxt and really like it. It holds everything from a traditional rifle, to a encore, to an AR.





In my pickup I have this. It keeps the rifles out of the backseat when I have passengers back there. If I am by myself I just throw them on the back seat.

I don’t have a utility SxS so space for rifle mounts is very limited. I have 2 options, neither is ideal, so I’ll just have to make do.

Option 1: remove backseats and install a rack system. Will be able to tote around 4 rifles or shotguns or a combo, and still have storage underneath.

Option 2: keeps rear seats in place and these will be mounted when needed. This limits access to my bed mounted tool box. But it does keep the guns 100% protected

I think this is actually the one I have. I don’t have the pistol holders but it definitely holds an AR well.

I have the Seizmik also. They aren't cheap. Recommended to me by a friend on here. Of course, he's too much of a square-head to buy one himself.

I also have the Can-Am "satchel"(?) that straps across the back of the cab; holds two scoped rifles, each put in from opposing sides. The nice androgynous parts counter girl at the dealership pointed out it was on clearance. I highly admire "plus" selling, no matter what your orientation is.

I have one of these double gun bags on the back of my buggy. I have some Kolpin Rhino XL gun holders under the middle seats that I. An flip up and have a gun up front if needed as well. If it’s dusty the guns go in the bag though.

I thought it was a Kids booster seat when I saw it!!!

I use one like this that mounts on the back of the window inside the cab - gets the guns out of the way but still inside away from dust.

That's innovative!

I use a soft gun case that fits perfectly between my storage box and the bed rail pointing straight out the back. Easy as a scabbard on a horse.

An 18" Remington Mohawk rides up front with the barrel resting in a self made, high tech, expertly engineered 1" x 6", cut to fit very tight in the drink holders. This one is my dedicated, 50 to 500 yard, don't care if it gets dusty rifle.
My go to rifle for the day which could be any one of three, rides in this Kolpin hard carrier with zippered case inside. This absorbs all the shock and knocks out 99% of the dust. I want this one dust free and ready to go when I park and start the hike in.

I’m a big fan of the Quick Fist mounts, use rivnuts to put them pretty much anywhere. Have the firearm specific mount on a chunk of square tubing behind the headrests on my Teryx and medium/small pair between the seats inside for the blackout. Have the back rack in the shop right now adding a couple of mounting tabs so I can carry my AR10 with night scope in the bed. Also use a couple pairs on the side rails for shovels and other tools. The rubber mounts are quick to use and have held up amazingly well in the sun and weather over the years.

Ive noticed that Onlysmith usually has ideas that are well thought out with some attention to detail. I like that. I like the notch thinghy but on some of our roads I think it might bounce out. I may try something like that but ill consider doing a deeper notch and maybe make it V shaped. Maybe two V shaped notches to hold two rifles.

Thanks. The butt stock is wedged really snug between seat cushion and seat back cushion. We have really decent roads for the most part, but when off road, it's a very slow crawl. A deeper notch if you need it would work, but there is also a notch in the bottom you don't see to allow a slip fit between the two cup holder cavities to keep it on bottom and tight. If you go much deeper, be careful that you leave enough material between the two notches. Table saw is you all you need.

Gotcha. I dont have a cupholder there anyway so I would have to do some rigging. Just one of many ideas that I will struggle to find time to follow up on....

Simple and secure, along with fast access

Across my chest hanging from the sling when riding an ATV. But the ATV stays parked and I walk until there is meat on the ground.
