Been patterning this big hoss on the game cam for months... He is coming out 20 minutes after dark... get out there with my boy, he come out 10 minutes later...I let the boy take the shot...whump...gothim. Thought he looked bigger on the many pics...oh well. Job well done right?





Check cam next day to see if anything came in after we left....Um...what....

Me and my buddy used to study photos and look for colorations, spots, scars, etc and then he’d even print out a BOLO and hang it on the fridge in camp

It was a job well done! I don't think anybody is going to be upset that you didn't shoot the one particular hog you were after. The best part is, the game is still afoot! (paraphrased from Sherlock Holmes).

I had to laugh at your story of patterning the hog and having it show up 10 minutes late, then it turning out not to be the hog you expected. Anyone who uses game cameras and hunts hogs has "patterned" them only to be dismayed when the pattern is mysteriously broken, whether the hunter patterned them 1 time or 100 times. We have all had this happen. I am guessing your hog got caught in traffic and was delayed in making it to your place.

Target Hog: "Brother, you go ahead this time. I'm running a little late. Get there early and be sure to get all the corn, heh, heh..."
