Congratulations on the draw. Never hunted there so no help from me. I do fish quite a bit down there.

My stepson was drawn 2 years ago . My best advice is to make sure you are there early as you pick the stands by your permit # . Permit holders get first pick and standby's after that. I think there are 26 Stands on the WMA and unless you get a stand the farthest away from the check station(either side of the road) you will be subject to other hunters going in and out near the stands closer to the station. You can bring corn as long as it meets the guidelines they have on the hunt brochure.
There are 7 or 8 stands on the Refuge but you can not corn on that land. (We picked the Refuge for the less traffic and we seen deer both Days but they were 250 yds away and I was only going to let him shoot to 150 yds. I did let him shoot at a Big Hog around 200 yds. and he missed ). On our hunt there were very few deer killed and one of them was an illegal antlered Buck and some Hogs. I had asked the Biologist how the Either sex hunt was the week before and he said they had only killed 6 total deer on that hunt. Looking at the success rate for last year they may have done better , but they do count the hogs in that percentage. I have heard the stands on the WMA are a little more roomy than the ones on the Refuge. I actually sat on a Barstool that I brought from the house behind the blind where I could see thru and whisper to him cause we both could not comfortably sit in it together. You can Bring Side by sides or 4 wheelers and you can leave them at the check station overnight. Good Luck
Mosquito Spray, Rubber Boots if it rains prior, and a Therma-cell a must.
