I’ve heard it’s recommended to keep the stuff removed from a “delete”.

This is interesting because the year of that truck did not come with the DEF exhausts. A delete on that year was just a tune within the computer system to retime the transmissions and put more hp down through the computer system. Even if he put that truck back to bare stock, I do not think that truck would have not blown black smoke. I could be wrong but that truck is very close to when it was being first talked about.
Some county's (like the one I live in) do not require emissions to register vehicles. Therefore, there are literally hundreds of deleted diesels going up and down the road. I know PPEI was fined 3.1 million for producing parts so to delet trucks and were essentially shut down. TBH I have a new 2022 ram 2500 and at the 6,000 mi mark it was back at the dealership because one of the sensors in these lovely exhausts went bad. Looked super easy to fix but the sensor was $1100, so warranty replaced it. Every technician I talked to, and one of the salesman, told me delete it as fast as possible. Basically they all are problems in every diesel. Not a matter of if it goes bad but when. Needless to say, no one is making anything for 2022's yet because of how strict the EPA is getting on the diesel trucks. Lots and lots of ram trucks pushing 300k, most of them are deleted. The trucks just run so much better without all the cancer on them. Known fact with diesel trucks, and as much as I tow, I wouldn't dare be without one at this point. There is no better feeling putting almost any amount of weight on the ball of the truck, doing 75-80 uphill and the truck doesn't even downshift, instead just feel the turbo spool and let the truck eat.
This sucks though! Having a good 5.9 cummins (one of the most sought after motors, even today) crushed because the lovely gov't is monitoring and examining vehicles for sale on FB marketplace. I think I would of fought that a little though because of the year of the truck.

I am actually surprised that deleting trucks hasn't been fined. I am certain that it will be.

Most dealers will not take a trade-in if it's been deleted.
I am still looking for the perfect apron, one with reinforced knee areas would be perfect.

These guys are maniacs for even thinking about making their pickups better than what the government says they should be. You know, global warming and stuff. I mean acid rain. Sorry, I think it’s climate change, these days. Is it even okay to assume that a vehicle is a pickup? Is that a gender? Hopefully Colt.45 shows up soon to educate me on how this works.

Guy sounds like an idiot. No way it would cost even close to 10k to put DPF back on that truck and retune. Either he's an idiot or an attention whore.

Most dealers will not take a trade-in if it's been deleted. Most dealers if ya are not shopping will tell ya they just offer ya less and it goes to auction if deleted But the ones around here have signs in the store stating it is against the law for them to take in a deleted truck, again so they can low ball your trade
i am cancelling my subscription, i am tired of your issues!

Yep, they take them and send them to the auction. Seconadary market so strong, it isn't an issue.

I fully deleted my 14 duramqx at 100k miles at a shop in town. Made a big difference. I had no pro lem at all trading it in to a major dealership back in May. I kept everything from the delete just in case the whole time. Now I need to find out how much the cats worth and sell.

My truck will be deleted soon, and IDGAF who knows it. I will drive that bitch till the wheels falls off, and when they do I'll fix them and keep driving it. My truck is none of the government's business. You are treading on me.......... and pissing me off with your ridiculous government mandated [censored] that serves zero purpose except for making politicians more rich in the name of [censored] causes. That's all I have to say about that.

Look at the website this is being purported on......its highly likely this story is made up in the first place to rile up all the coal burners
For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

That's all I have to say about that. I am almost there with you. Might wait til one more thing goes wrong with the exhaust system and then I will delete mine as well. I for sure will do it when the truck hits 60k mi because that is when my warranty is up on my truck. I drive the piss out of mine, avg 20-25k mi a year. I have driven mine, and I have driven a 2020 deleted. Night and day difference in how they drive. Better fuel mileage and no DEF expenses. Kind of a no brainer. I know a reputable company with a large fleet of diesel trucks. Every vehicle they have in the fleet is deleted and have had 0 issues with the gov't telling them what they can and cannot do with their trucks. The ONLY problem I am still having is finding a delete kit for 2022 trucks. Nothing is being made yet. So when I find one or one becomes available, I will have my dinero ready.
