We hunted near these weeds this weekend, Karnes County.
They were growing on the edge of a pond that was low. So good dirt and water.
Many of them were 8ft tall, some made 10ft. Stalks were about 1”
Anyone know what they are?

Looks like chamberbitter but it normally doesn’t get that large.

I originally said young mimosa, but upon closer look, the stem would look like tree bark instead of a green stalk.

I believe it is a type of Sesbania. I have herd it called Riverhemp.

We used to have acres of them on our lease... we called them seany beans.
2-4D cleared them out.

We always called that mesquiney beans, pigs love bedding up in that stuff.

That stuff is so tall that it looked like young trees. It made great cover for teal hunting.

They make good noise poppers too when the pods turn green....
