That is 3 crappie/6 fillets. That's a meal for me, and I freeze them in packets of 3 crappie/6 fillets as well. I try to freeze the small ones and big ones in the same packet, so if I'm really hungry or my wife wants some, I will get a big packet of 6. Or I might go 2 small packets...But small packets like this, easier to thaw out, 6 hours room temperature it is thawed..

I have never made those, but I been wanting to. Thanks for the reminder...

I tell yeah tho, I love this little fryer I got from Walmart. It heats up in no time, easy to clean, don't have to worry about watching/maintaining temperature... And the best thing it does not burn your oil, so oil lasts a long time. I used to use a dutch oven. The problem with heating pots conventionally is that as fish particles/fish fry mix falls to the bottom, it burns because the bottom of the pot is the heat source. Vs the fryer, the heating element is raised above the bottom, so fish fry mix falls below the heating element, see 3rd pic..

I clean it after every cook, filter the oil and put oil back in container to use again. This little fryer I take with me on the road and even camping.
