That was my guides home in Bags, Wyoming, just south of Craig Colorado. I met him in South Padre Island. He was a fishing guide. My mule deer hunt cost $1,000. He was a retired Houston Fire Fighter. He ruined his back sliding down the "fire poll" onto an open car door. about split him in two. Great guy and a great hunter. Those whitetails were all taken in south Texas on ranches where I think he swapped fishing trips for hunting trips. How he killed so many huge deer? I don't ask questions. He carried a custom Remington .338 Win. Mag. He shot it like a .22

Deer like that were common back in the day, that area was known for big bucks. Sadly , not any more.
You have to go west to Region G now for bucks like that and they are few and far between.
Numbers have plummeted from the good old days.

Bucks like that are getting so rare these days. I should have been born 30 years earlier!
