Came down yesterday with a huge load of materials and my crew. Unbelievable sunsets and sunrises. Tonight was a burgundy blood moon. We are finally seeing some real changes. This has been a roller coaster of a project. I am relieved to be making so much headway. This place comes with a lot of beauty but also a lot of danger. It's the rattlesnakeiest and scorpions. I got popped twice and killed dozens. I put on a fresh set of underwear after a wh... bath and one was in my dang underwear. Got my on the thigh. That was a hour ago and it's still throbbing. Oh BTW no barrel burner but the crew had a decent hunt and the surf was no disappointment. [Linked Image]

Congrats on getting it habitable. I hate scorpions.

Did I mention I hate scorpions?

Nice pictures. Are the mullet running yet?

No matter how high a duck flies a hammer still breaks a window.

They were running good. As far as we could see in either direction was a line of mullet. Birds getting in on top and herds of every species you could imagine from underneath. It was a bad day to be a mullet. Teal on the north side of the island and hears of reds on the beach. After I dealt with that devil sent scorpion I told the boys, "Yall go on get out the house, I am going to burn it down".

Get a backback sprayer and spray it with talstar and/or Taurus SC once every 2-3 months and your scorpion/bug problem will be permanently solved.

Man, I gotta get down there. It's been 6 years since I hit the mullet run.

I lived in the jungle for a time. Scorpions were about 4 inches long. I feared them more than the snakes, more than the jaguars and more than the army ants.

My leg hurts just thinking about that sting you got.

If they were flying good you could hunt dove off that front porch real easy like.

I am going with Demon, a specified scorpion spray and glue traps. The first time my bride gets popped by a scorpion will be the day I have to burn the house down.

There are scorpions in Matagorda County? (that’s where I thought your place is)

It is Matagorda and no not scorpions. There is however a butt load of them on the island. I have killed dozens upon dozens in some old tin stacked up. Been popped twice here in the last few months.
