Social media or some form of modern communication distribution relayed that there was a student threatening a girl with an AR at a local HS. LEO and school district officials appropriately went into lockdown protocols. Neighboring jurisdictions sent resources without question and immediately. Choppers came. DPS came. CPS came, ambulances form another county on and on, ad nauseum. Parents got wind and that's when all heck broke loose. Hysteria ran rampant. Arteries going the to and all around HS became jammed with parents and their autos as they rushed to the HS. They would park in churches, bar ditches, in medians and wherever with some exiting their vehicles and running towards the school.

It was a hoax.

When that happened at Madison, I just text my kids too serpentine...... everyone reacts differently I guess.

But, it could have been someone who saw something and thought it was a gun and called it in. If so, it is hard to fault them for it.

I was in NB yesterday and got caught up in all that. It was something else. Didn’t know there were that many ambulances in a 3 county area. Oak wood church massive parking lot was packed with ambulances
I certainly understand the caution but will this kinda thing happen more and more if a kid is pissed at a teacher or girlfriend and just wants to create havoc with a phone call or post on social media
Like I said...can’t be to careful but the massive assets I saw yesterday were unbelievable

Evidently it came through the “P3” system, which is basically an anonymous way to rat other kids out. Don’t get me wrong, this kind of deal has to start with the kids being vigilant about their surroundings and speaking up if they see something, but there has to be some kind of accountability that comes with making a report. I’m afraid this system is a preview to red flag laws.
We live about a 1/4 mile from the school and I was working from home yesterday. It was a madhouse.
While it was a huge waste of resources, I will say that NBPD did not hesitate to go in and assure the safety of our kiddos. We are all grateful for that.
Our oldest daughter is a junior there and didn’t get home until after 7 last night. She also text me today and said there are hardly any kids at school today.
Just sad all around and if it was a hoax they need to find out who and why and bust their a$$.

Willing to bet a teacher was disciplining a student and the student didn't like the result so he had the school "Swatted".

I'd venture to say parents delivering more of those would solve a lot of the worlds problems we have today.
