My dad used to make cabrito all the time. I do not know why he stopped.

That looks good.

I like it when it's done right, especially in a good dark gravy over rice.

I used to sell 4 cabritos for what 1 costs today.

Because they got too expensive. We used to kill one every 4th of July and New Year’s Day. A $25 Cabrito turned into a $100 Cabrito in a few years. I think it has to do with the booming muslim population.

I love it. There used to be a store in Cresson that sold cabrito sandwiches many years ago. Good stuff!

Good eating right there food

First goat meat I remember having was back in the 70's at a huge multi keg & booze party out in the country one summer. It was a bring a tent, sleep in your car or on the ground deal.
They killed an old goat on the property, built a big fire and cooked it.
Remember waking up next morning on the ground with goat meat stuck between every tooth in my nasty cotton mouth.
Lets see no tooth brush & paste up all night drinking with no water, I was rough book for awhile.

Use to get my fair share of really good goat meat when I lived in Houston with an old girlfriend
Her parents owned a big mechanic shop in the Hispanic part of town, we would go to this one dive that knew how to cook it many different ways.

Mercardo Juarez off Northwest Highway on Dallas/Irving border used to have a pretty good serving

Most places I have tried it's very greasy in the USA and abroad

Cabrito is one of the finest meats available to mankind.

I would take some slow roasted Cabrito over a prime rib or wagyu steak any day of the week.

For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

I agree. I love goat meat. It’s just hard to find at grocery stores. I’ve seen it at a few of the Mexican markets in my area but I’m not paying $200 plus for a goat. Got a great deal a few years back on a few yearling. Killed and butchered myself. Lot of work but for $45 each it was worth it.
