Wow, I like that alot and $1499 MSRP for all those features is pretty dang cheap compared to some of the other 2011's out there.
Might need to sell my 1911 and upgrade.

I am still looking for the perfect apron, one with reinforced knee areas would be perfect.

No thanks. A 1911 should be in .45 (maybe 10mm)...PERIOD. I have absolutely no use for a 9mm 1911. I'll just stick with my Dan Wesson 1911 and when I want to kill a bunch of crap my 15+1 FNX .45 Tactical. Them be real pistols. Now if they chamber this in .45 and give me 15+1 capacity I'd be half interested but at that price, No. The FNX .45 Tactical was "only" $1k and a Springfield Armory Elite 5" Tactical with 15+1 .45 goodness is only like $600. You can't even run a suppressor on that thing. Nope...No thanks.

Seems like an STI knock off. Earl makes a sound argument but to each their own. I have a Para Black Ops double stack in 45 and I love it. Made here and not in Canada. Solid gun with good quality, before Remington bought them out.
Hopefully someone will post some results and testing details for us one day.

What can I say? I do like 9mm and I love me my 9mm high caps too (but not in 1911 format)...maybe it's cause it's an affront to John Moses Browning or something He could have made a 9mm 1911, but instead went for the P35 which was and is a damn fine pistol, just no 1911. No thanks. A 1911 should be in .45 (maybe 10mm)...PERIOD. I have absolutely no use for a 9mm 1911. I prefer for things to "evolve and get better". Just think, we could still be using rotary dial phones hanging on a wall with a 20' cord. YMMV

The reason he designed a Hi Power instead of just chambering it in 9mm and re-designing as a double stack is because he could not infringe on his own patent for the 1911 when designing the Hi Power.

Those were the days. Of course I was the guy who always slipped on the last number, probably a 9, and had to start over.

I like everything about it except: not made in TX, “Prodigy” rollmark is stupid. Springfield is about to give Staccato a run. I bet mags wont be Staccato pricing either.

Looks like mags will be about $60 Yea saw some on GB earlier for $59 shipped, but the gun there were 2 without the red dot for $1999. Found one on KYGuns for $1499 without red dot which is MSRP. I’ll wait a little bit, but will probably be buying one.

I think I need the 4 1/4' version.
If you watch Coloin's video, he let it eat! Almost sounded full auto. That's some good clean American fun right there!

Paraordnance used to make really good pistols when they were in Canada. They moved down here and still made pretty good pistols and then the company went Tango Uniform. I think Remington picked them up, but don't know if they sold out the rights to Springfield. The original was great and the P-12 in the Officer's Model frame was a darn good conceal carry piece. Springfield's price is kinda steep. jmo.

Springfield's price is kinda steep. jmo. I’ve had 3 para 16-40’s. They’re good guns, but the oddball mag issues and parts compatibility doomed them. Not to mention they are FAT!! I still shoot a Pro Custom (USA made) in USPSA and I don’t think it holds me back… but it’s far from a carry gun. FWIW I think I gave $1000 new for it in 2017; I don’t think the $1500 MSRP is extreme in todays market for the Springfield.

I was kinda surprised how much he gushed over the Springfield considering he did the exact same video for Staccato but actually drove to Georgetown to pick up his pistols pretty recently.
