They are worse then gambling and just as expensive. They become very addicting. Every morning when I wake up I spend 30 min going thru the night before. Then right before bedtime I have to look and see what moved in the evening. The cameras have came way down in price you can get a good one for less the 125 dollars now. But when you pay the monthly fee on several it adds up. We now not only use them to watch game we have one on nearly every gate. They are a game changer for sure. But I don't drink or smoke so I guess they will have to be my vice. I'm amazed at some of the pictures we capture on them.

I just purchased my first one with a solar panel. Tactacam XB but haven't had the chance to take it out and set up.

I’ve gone back and forth on them but have decided to just keep the traditional style cameras. Part of the joy for me is making a lap around and checking cameras, feeders, etc. Plus in the pineywoods, everybody on my lease complains about their cameras not sending regularly or whatever the issue can be. Signal issues etc. no matter the brand

I live two hours away from our place so figured it's worth a try. I read real good things about the Tactacam ones so time will tell.

I have one Tacticam out....what is going to piss me off is when I hunt a different stand set up from where it is and see nothing while getting pictures of what I am missing at the other spot... frown

Well Im addicted to cell cameras. I have 4 of them. 3 reolink cameras and 1 still shot camera, snyper hunting products camera. The reolink by far is better than any cell camera I have tried. It is live video and has 360 degree movement from my phone. It is at&t 12 dollars a mount on my unlimited data plan set up on a phone line. The other two are 15 and 18 a month set up as a tablet on my unlimited data plan. They all 3 have their own solar panels no batteries other then internal battery what Im saying is no batteries to trade out. excellent pictures and video.

I think the texts would drive me nuts. Luckily I live on my ranch so I can just switch cards every few days.

I just put a tactical reveal xb up, to catch someone who we think is messing with a feeder. I've had the aa batterie come loose twice and the timer legs dangling, hanging on with one screw. I'm wanting to put it my stand and enjoy the deer pictures but first looking for a trespasser

They're not all created equal and there is definitely a learning curve in getting them setup and working. My Moutrie was very easy to setup, but a friend asked me for help getting his Skypoint camera going. It seems you have to format the memory card with a PC and update the software as part of the setup process and he's not a tech guy.

I have a Covert camera. I have my text turned off it just shows a picture count on my covert app. The cameras are a little expensive but the monthly subscription is good.

How many of you guys saw the Wise Eye Game Cameras at the TTHA Shows? Steve and Deb told me that they were on the cutting edge of technology.

'Checked out their website. The future feeder being able to recognize a deer (instead of a pig) and open a feed door is pretty dang intriguing, but I can't imagine what it'll cost.

I've got a couple of Reveal Tacticams. They certainly work, but I can't say that I'm blown away by the picture quality. They're certainly good for night photos, which is when the dang pigs show up. I wholeheartedly agree with the "worse than gambling" statement. However, I do drink, and have the occasional cigar, so my vices are beginning to reach a heady total. I seem to be always watching a camera die, no matter the brand. I do prefer the roll around, collect the cards, and settle in to look at the pictures (with a drink and a cigar) routine, versus constant, or daily updates to my phone. Hell, I might even leave a set without a camera this season, just to make life interesting. eek2

This summer we put them on the tanks and would sit around till we saw hog’s coming in to cool off. 83 hogs probably don’t think much of the camera’s. This hog and I have a date in the next evening that I can catch a break

Love my RidgeTec cameras. Have one at my front gate and another on the feeder. Don’t know how many hogs I’ve killed at night when the phone buzzed and pigs were at the feeder. Between the thermals, suppressors and camera ,,,,, it is a blast . rifle

I have one and it is great. I'm using AA batteries and I'm at 70% after one month. Mostly night photos of hogs. I have mine where it takes three photos
a minute but only sends me the first one and stores the rest on the card in the camera. I paid $119 for mine. I have a friend that needed to buy the
antenna extension to get reception but I did not.

How difficult are the TaCTacams to operate? Am I going to need to go back to college to get one going? Wonder if this would be covered under Stupids give away millions program?

I'm not an expert at all, in my 70's, on all of the high tech camera's, but I was able to follow the instructions without any problems and get my camera up and running. You will need to be sitting
in front of your computer with the camera. That's how they program it. Took less than 10 minutes and I have had it up and running for 30 days with no problems at all.
But go out to your place and hold your cell phone where you want the camera to be. Then check how many bars you have to see if you have enough to send the photos to you.
I also paid $5 extra so that I can have 50 High definition photos, but as yet have hot used one. I'm sure I will once deer season starts. Oh, that's not $5 per month, it will not charge
you again until you take the 51st high def photo. Here is a regular photo from a TacTecam Reveal XB.

Thank you. Not saying I can do it, but there is hope. (maybe)

We have 12 cameras spread across the ranch and really enjoy checking them. Solar panels, extended antennas, and repeaters, get the pictures to us.

A good friend of mine bought his first cellular camera, one of the Spypoint models. Not being a techie guy (he doesn't even own a PC), he's yet to get it working. He called me explaining how the instructions state he'll need a PC to format the memory card and update the software in order to make it work.

I've never been a strong supporter of Moultrie cameras but my Delta model was a breeze to get running, partly because memory cards can be formatted and the software updated from the unit. It also transmits photos even with a weak signal.

Those Spypoints are terrible for the exact reason your friend is experiencing.

I like the Bushnell that were recently on sale on Amazon for $90 and had a $40 rebate. They work well.
I like the Reveal too.
I also had one security camera that ran on cellular called a Reolink Go PT. I was able to access it live and move it around for different views.
