Seeing a lot of new scrapes over the lease. Some bucks are rubbing off the velvet...won't be long now.

Seems a little early for scrapes.

For what its worth, scrapes and rubs are different. Rubs is where they leave their business on a tree, and a scrape is usually on the ground. Could have a low hanging limb with it. Not too early for rubs in some areas.

Yes ..........you're right on what is a scrape and a rub but what you may not know is scrapes are made before, during, and after rutting seasons.

I've seen as many as two or three bucks the same day, work the same scrape and the same buck work more than one during the same day. What I think is they are saying I have been here...lol ...however, I believe large bucks makes big scrapes(bigger in diameter) and rubs on larger and small trees. I look for rubs and scrapes every day I'm at the lease after the bucks rubs off their velvet.
