I went dark mode for a good long while, but came back to light and have come to stay I believe.

Instead of white background and dark characters, you go to black background and light characters. Not overwhelming in the dark, and I have to believe it saves battery life on mobile devices. I use dark mode on another forum I frequent. Probably would here too, if it were available.

My wife would sure like it if we had it...says I keep her awake w the light from my phone when I'm on this website. A couple others I frequent have dark mode and those don't bother her
