It's very possible that I don't know where to look, but I am having trouble finding reviews of Norte Hunters Argentina dove hunts. I found one facebook review but nothing else. Does anyone on here have experience with this outfitter?

I am not looking to go hunting with them. They are offering to donate a 4 person dove hunt to a charity we are involved with to sell at a silent auction fundraiser. The hunters who purchase the 3 day hunt will still have to pay fees totaling about $1,200 per hunter plus the ammo the shoot at $13.80 per box. They will have to put up a $1,200 non-refundable deposit to book the hunt voucher on Norte's hunting calendar.

I have no experience with Argentina dove hunting. Does this sound legit?

WOW, the ammo may cost as much as the trip. If your shoulder can handle it.

What are they donating?
To me, It doesn't seem like a very good deal.

I’ve seen those deals go two ways at a banquet. Silence in the room, a couple drunk rich dudes way over spending.

Generally the following day when everyone sobers up there is plenty of regret. The lodging is the cheapest part of the trip.

Seen the same thing, cheap trip on paper till you factor in airfare and cost of shells.

The lodges are probably tired of it and thats why they want the non refundable deposit.

Donating hunts or puppies seldom is a good deal. We finally quit and would sponsor a table or buy more stuff each year at the banquet instead.

I use to be in the business of selling those hunts. Check for date restrictions, ask what the drive time to and from the fields are, check that all lodging, food and booze are included, transportation to and from the airport, licenses etc. I'd try and haggle with them on the price per box of shells, $13,80 isn't bad, but you can get that down to $12.

The birds in the north of Cordoba have been bouncing back thanks to covid. But there's a huge population of them that moved east of Cordoba.

A lot of the accommodations in that country can seriously suck, bad beds, cramped vehicles and rooms, sub par food, see if you can't find someone that's stayed there before and make sure they're catering to the "western" needs. Oh, and don't drink the tap water.

This is a very common marketing tactic for Argentina outfitters. I get them offered to my charity all the time, but won't sell them. If it's any indication, at the last DU auction I was involved in they had 4 Argentina dove hunts offered and they got zero bids on them. Too many people have been burned. 90% of the cost is airfare, inflated shell costs, gun rentals, airport transport to/from lodge, bird boy's and everything else they can think to tack on. Unless Norte add's something of real value other than lodging and meals, your winning bidder will get little for their purchase.

That is a shame to hear, went to Argentina with my Dad in '06 and we had an awesome time. Shame to hear it has gone to the dogs

There are still some very good outfitters and lodges. And good deals to be had. You just have to be careful and not fall prey to deals that balloon the cost. I plan on going back in 2024 (health and wallet allowing.)
