My son has a savage rascal that he loves to shoot, and I think he'd love it even more with a small scope. What kind of super-compact scope could I put on it? Obviously budget-friendly. Thinking 1-4x or fixed 4x, 3x, or 2x.

Fixed are getting harder to find in anything other than a prism scope.

PA has an inexpensive fixed 6 with a 22 lr reticle. Higher magnification than you are lookin for. I have the 1-6 version of the reticle on a 22 auto. I like it.

I have my grandson in the identical rifle. He shot it with irons for a couple of years before I put a Simmons 4x on it. It's less than $50.00 I believe.

An unethical shot is one you take, that you know you shouldn't.

I set up a couple of 10/22s with fixed 4x for kids. I don’t remember the brand but they were compact for sure. Came in around $65 each.

I put a Hawke 4X on my granddaughters. Works well.

There's a few great options from Hawke. We'd be glad to discuss it with you if you have the time to give me or Neil a call

Leupold FXI 4x28 is hard to beat. I love these scopes, I have a couple of them.

If you are looking for a more budget friendly option then get the Hawke 4x32. It’s as good as it gets under $100, love the hawke scopes.

Another great option is a Hawke sport HD 2-7x32. An AO, IR scope clear and rugged and also cheap. But the “mils” are set for 10x mag so you’ll never get exactly a mil hold off then.
