hello,
Can anybody here tell me when Ruger changed the barrel on the GP 100 and Redhawk revolvers from 4" to 4.2"?
Thanks.

That’s a good question. I did not know they made a change until your post. Curious now as well.

I believe 4.2 Inches is the legal barrel length in Canada? That might have something to do with it.

Yes sir.
I know about the Canada market. My question is when did they make the change... What year?
Thanks.

1995 was when the bill in Canada banned all handguns over 105mm in length so but I'm sure Ruger had plenty of 4" barrels in stock so I bet even Ruger couldn't tell exactly when they went entirely with 4.2".

What a bunch of idiots there are up in Canada, I feel sorry for our Canadian friends. The longer the barrel, the safer. A short barrel van be easier to accidentally point in the wrong direction. A longer barrel, better for sportsmen but harder for a crook to conceal.

Pardon me if I am wrong, but I think 10mmillie meant to say under 105mm instead of over 105mm. If their law really says “over” I would wonder if Biden was consulted before they did something that idiotic
